The Utilitarian-Camper 2nd Gen Tacoma

Love it!

This was what I had dreamed of doing...a frame-less design.... but I don't have the tools necessary for the job ..... looks very awesome! Are you a welder by trade?

At the places where two panels bend in and and there is a long inside seam.... does the weld only go down the inside where the two pieces meet or are there hidden welds as well?

I'm a product designer by trade but I'm passionate about working with my hands. I'm more of a mig guy myself so I'm having a friend of mine do the tig welding for me on this project.

The way it's constructed there are welds on the inside seams of the long panels which gives very clean lines on the outside and a very strong assembly

Started making the camper mounts. They are 1.5"x3.5 steel tubing (tough to find by the way) with welded bottom plates and threaded inserts. They will slide into the stake pockets from the bottom up and the camper will bolt from the inside (security feature) the compression will hold the camper in place. I still have to angle them and clean them up and make 2 more for a total of 6 of them.
