Outside of the Ecoboost (which is awesome but no other manufacturer competes with), does your new F-150 have any important features that can't be had on a Tundra?

A 5 star safety rating.

I think most newer trucks have pretty much similar options. (Unless you get to higher end trims. Seat massager, heat/cool seats, etc).

Few I like on the F150 are:
- Power tailgate lock (this may be available on the new 2019 Tundra. My friend’s 2015 did not have this. Such petty thing to leave out by Toyota).
- Key pad. Oh, so handy.
- Rear locker.
- Flat rear floor.

Yeah the "unless you get to higher trims" is what I was getting at. Lots of folks like to knock on the Tundra for being outdated and then want to spec XLT or similar trims that don't really have anything extra anyway...

A door keypad is right there with Toyota's roll down rear truck/suv window as one of those features that I cannot understand why every manufacturer hasn't made mainstream. I would love to be able to stash my truck keys inside when going for a run or hike

But that’s the great thing about Ford. You can piece meal everything even on the lower trims. You want a rear locker on an XL? No prob. 36 gallon tank? 3.73 gears? Add it all on. Toyota is package only deal.

The rear window thing is cool though. I do wish others had that feature.

Look at it like this...

What is the CLASSIFIEDS section on here filled with? Mini Tacos and Such...

Lots of folks start small, and think it will be enough, and then sell to go bigger. I personally know dozens that have done this.

The "Full size trucks cant get to where i go" line is a bunch of Malarky and i had my Tundra anywhere anyone put anything.

For this hobby/lifestyle, fullsize is where its at and more and more folks are realizing that, hence the flood of Tacos and 4Runners for sale in the classifieds section

That's my .02

I disagree completely. There's a lot of places I used to take my Tacoma that my new Ram 2500 is simply way, way too big and heavy to go. It won't even fit down the trails and definitely can't manuever in anywhere near as tight spaces. It's a trade-off I was willing to make though to have a better towing and hauling truck.

Aluminum body (no rust / 700lbs lighter than the previous gen steel)
E-locker (don't know if that is available on Tundra or if you have to order a special package or not)
Integrated trailer brake control and trailer back-up control
10 speed transmission
20+ MPG on the highway, 18 - 19 in the city
36 gallon tank (the combination of these two features gives me easily a 600+ mile range when not towing.)
Keypad for entry (Ford has had this for more than 20 years on their cars and trucks, it's amazing to me that they are the only ones. I use mine all the time and love it.)

I took a new tundra trd for a test drive and one word boring. It was nice but talk about zero heartbeat

I owned a second gen briefly... While it wasn't a bad truck... There was absolitely nothing specail about it.

My brother works for a Toyota distributor and gets a new demo every few months. His last one was a limited Tundra. The interior looked and felt cheap and designed 10 years ago. No thanks. And calling the Nav/audio system equivalent to virtually anything else is laughable.

Tundra doesn’t have a rear locker available (only LSD/ATRAC).
Tundra has a 38 gal tank
They have integrated brake controller

That's how I feel about all half ton trucks ?.

For the money the F150 is hard to beat. If they would offer the heavy duty payload package in a supercab 6.5" bed I would have one. Payload is why I'll probably end up with a 3/4 eventually.

Edited because I had my facts wrong!

there definitely is nothing special about them and for some reason IMO, they always scream "Mall Crawler"
