I havent been anywhere cool or exotic lately, family obligations and injuries have been keeping me strapped down but Walnut Creek is usually satisfying in a pinch.

Well, on my first road ride in over a year I felt the pain this morning. 70.33 miles up into 7 springs past cave creek. I'm happy with that. OUCH! :Wow1:

Today was our scheduled epic ride day lovingly referred to as the Punkin Smasher.

55 miles. 39 miles of singletrack. 5700 feet of climbing. Only one gear.

White Rim trip

First time I've ridden the White Rim and it was stunning, it's in my top 5 must do ride category. We rode it clockwise but it'd go either way, hit the Schafer switchbacks right at sunrise and the views down those canyons with the morning light were awe inspiring.

I think this is why they call it the White Rim

I brought 150 oz of water and filled up 2 24 oz bottles twice along the way, got lucky to find this at mile 70 and again at the Green River.

Hike a bike up Mineral Botttom, you can still ride most of it, maybe 30 minutes of total walking.

Got the itch to ride last Sat. 20 degrees and little dusting of snow (fairweather's photos make me want to head down South).

Not too great in snow. I would love to get a Pug or Fatback as a winter bike.

Yea I was thinking of a fatbike for desert riding but maybe go to snow areas for a change of pace.
