<<<<Scepter's military fuel cans are manufactured from extra tough, high molecular weight, high density polyethylene. They protect the fuel from contamination, and the environment from fuel leakage and fuel vapours. With a capacity of 5.3 gallons (20 litres), the MFC (Military Fuel Can) features three integral handles, and the flat rectangular shape of the old steel jerry cans that it replaced.
Military fuel cans are readily stacked or palletized for efficient storage and shipping. The cap retainer strap is color coded and marked with a raised letter to identify the type of fuel: Yellow for diesel, Red for gasoline, etc.

The easy-open twist cap, internal air vent, low-noise handling, and rapid pouring rate with Scepter's high-flow spouts, deliver superior performance.

In military live-fire tests, the MFC melts and burns, but it does not explode. The Scepter MFC fuel cans meet DOT regulations, are certified to UN Standards and TUV. UL Listed. Manufactured and N.A.T.A tested to comply with Australian Standard AS 2906-1991.This can exceeds the United Nations ? Transport of Dangerous Goods Model Regulations and is Design Registered with Transport Canada, permitting its use universally for the transportation of fuels by all modes - air, sea, rail and road. Cans produced under terms of ISO9001.

Sceptor 5.3 U.S. Gallon Jerry cans measure 18 1/2" (468mm) high; 14" (356.4mm) wide; 6 1/2" (165mm) deep and weigh 7 lbs (3 kilograms).
These cans fit Blitz, U.S. military, UNIMOG/Pinzgauer (Swiss Army vehicles), Garvin Industries Wilderness Racks, Safari Trailers and most other popular off-road Jerry can racks.

Sorry to hijack this thread...

I recently picked up the Scepter 5gal water can and will get the fuel can shortly. Recently i saw a pic of a dual scepter can carrier, but now i cant find it anywhere.

I checked Pangea's site, Quadratec, along with a search on the web with no luck. Anyone know where i can find it?

So here's a question. How do these cans do with the bloading issue in the sun. Anyone who uses a plastic can for the mower know that in the sun those things will expnd big time. That is my only concern using the sceptor fuel can. I am ordering some fuel cans next week and trying to decide between sceptor and wedco.

We switched our trailers over to the Scepter cans because we feel that they are more durable than the Wedco's that we were using previously. We can run over them with the Dodge and they pop back to their shape! If you are in a state like California that requires a spill proof nozzle, Scepter has the best solution that we have seen and they will be introducing an even better nozzle in about 5-6 weeks. If your state does not require the CARB nozzle, then the MFC nozzle from Scepter is really very nice, made with a Viton seal.
The other nice thing about the Scepter can is that the opening is threaded on the inside of the opening as well and will accept the old style metal Biltz can nozzle.

The choices for Scepter can holders on the market is limited so we came up with our own design. It will hold both the fuel can and water can. Flying Wil is going to try to break a couple of them for us :ar15: and give a review. We're very interested in what he has to say.

Nullifier,
I've used the Scepter MFC for two years now in temperatures ranging from -30 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with not issues and no leaks. The can does buldge out a bit in the hot temperatures but nothign like what you would see for the typical plastic mower can. I even store my on it's side in the bed of the truck under the sleeping platform where it may bouce, vibrate and slide arround quite a bit and I've yet to have it leak on me. I'm very pleased with the Scepter MFC and would buy another in a hear beat. Just one thing to note, make sure to tighten the lid down as best you can and you will never have an issue.
Cheers ,

I am looking forward beating a these up during testing. Lately it has been 100+ degrees here so that will put it to the bulging test. As soon as I get them I'll post up my review.

I guess the issue with cranking the lid on tight is that doing so supposedly wears on the gasket. I have one Scepter fuel can and one water can and I can see marks on the gaskets after cranking them tight. The water can does leak, slightly, at times. The Wedco and similar cans don't force you to stretch and sheer the gasket when closing the can - the lids snaps straight down on the mouth of the can. It would be really neat if someone could make a Wedco-style can out of Scepter-style plastic.
