Wildlife Photography

This spider has been in my back yard for a few weeks, spotted him spinning a web tonight, thought I'd try my hand at getting some shots of it.

My vision night vision isn't good enough to manual focus, so i used auto focus, got some great shots of my fence in the back ground!

I just "discovered" this forum a couple of weeks ago, stirred my interest in taking pictures again.

This guy was cruising through our camp at a very brisk walk, I grabbed the camera and shot at whatever setting it was one. He wasn't in the posing mood, I'm bummed it came out blurry.

Barn Owl. Gila River, AZ. We kayaked past this guy, when he took off he hesitated and plopped down in the water. He didn't seem too concerned, he just floated along side us about 50yards or so until he grabbed onto some driftwood and climbed out,

Frog. Mogollon Rim just above town of Strawberry.

I hope you were shooting at that Diamondback with a very long zoom, especially all coiled up like that ready to strike!!!

That owl shot is pretty outstanding and must have been a cool scene!!

I was WELL out of strike range. Zoom is an amazing thing!

The owl was really cool. It was one of those things that happens where you can't beleive it's really happening in front of you, I was kind of dumbfounded. In retrospect, I wish I had thought quicker and used my paddle to help him out of the water. I bet he would have sat out on the front of my kayak. He was very calm at that point.

Nice herp shots. Rattlesnakes are actually a lot less aggressive than people think. I photograph them a lot. As long as you are out of strike range and don't do anything stupid, they are actually very nice animals to photograph. I have seen dozens of rattlesnakes in CA and NV and I have never had one "attack" or "chase" me as I have heard from so many people.

Great shots Tim. :victory: Crisp rattler shots like that really communicate their don't tread on me attitude.

Here's a few Hummer shots from today.

Going back through some old photos from trips now my post processing is better.

Here is a chameleon near Sidi Ifni on the Atlantic Coast of Morocco.

Thanks Pat.

He ran (slowely) across the sandy track infront of us so I got out and stalked him as he tried to hide in the bushes. I never expected to see one in a coastal habitat in Morocco. I thought I was seeing things when it crossed the track :)
