Well done! :sombrero:
The head is on!
If you pay the freight I have stock 62 R&P's I will send you for the front.Well after waiting a few months to get my carb/dizzy back from JIMC over on MUD....The cruiser is running!!! The desmog is complete. Everything runs great. Added my old set of Hella 500's fog lights to the front. Still need to get them wired up. I took off the old OEM chrome rack.
Replaced - all hoses, had the rad. gone through, new head, spark plugs, rotor, galley oil plug fix, JIMC desmog kit, fabricated new pulley, re-painted battery tray/area, and re-painted behind grill (i'm sure i'm missing something).
After reading over all 30 plus pages of the famous desmog thread....I think i got it!
Need to let the money tree recover for the OME lift. I did pick up a set of used 33x10.5's with 95% left on them. I also picked up a used 62 diff with the 4:11 gears. Just need another diff and the lift and I'm set.
All is well over at the Willman base camp!
A big thanks goes to my cousin again for his help on getting her back together!

I just regeared mine and to 5.29 and was going to recycle them. Let me know.
...Not sure on a spring over.....Thinking an OME lift....I'll have to do some more research on that one.....cheaper you would think...
Spring-over with OME then
A properly built SOA gets you all the ride quality of an SUA with added flex and naturally height. Its not the best option for all but its a great option for many. I've had a couple SOA 60/62's and am looking to build another down the road
If 33's are your end goal, then SUA with OME would be the ideal solution and one that won't leave you wanting. An SOA with even flat stock springs is good for a 5" or more so while I've seen some SOA 60's with 33's they never look quite right proportionately and it is far more work and complexity for the gains you'll get, again relating to 33's only. SOA's really shine when the end user wants 35's or greater, you can do super arched springs and long shackles in an SUA configuration but it makes little sense in the end.
You only cut/turn the front axle, rear gets rotated but as it has no relationship between caster and pinon angle there is no need for the custom fab required on the front. Other than that you have it pretty nailed down, add to that other small items such as brakelines and a knuckle overhaul kit as you'll have the axle 100% stripped for the cut/turn.
SOA's = domino effect. Turning 35's is quite the chore for 4.11's and the 2F and would be uncomfortable off-road and on the road. I had a SOA 2F/FJ60 running 35's and it struggled, the clutch took a beating and I was never comfortable with its prowess. So if 35's are in the cards its time to think re-gear, 4.88's is most common though 4.56's can work for some too. That really jumps the cost of the entire process by a significant amount. Oh yeah, if your going to re-gear and have your diffs out, might as well add a locker or two and rebuild the rear axle while its apart. Dominoes.
