Thanks guys!

I'm very happy on how she turned out!

Little list to do

  • -paint under fenders
  • -wire truck & trailer for brakes
  • -fix tailgate...(little bent)
  • -mount fridge...(in truck)

Hoping to sneak off to southern Utah in a few weeks depending on my wifes work schedule....

:)

Playing with the Eezi-Awn!!! Got the wife and kid all pumped for this season of ExPo travel!!....All i need is more time off and better weather!!!

Gotta do a little bumper gate work....

DSC04362.jpg

I going to cut about 18" or so off my gate arm and do a screw style locking deal.....I'm sick of unhooking the trailer to get into the back of my truck....Going to cut where the chain is.......Thought about lenghting my trailer tongue...but it is just right for the size of the trailer....

Just make a hard left turn every time you park. :ylsmoke:

Nic,

Have you thought about a receiver extension? I used an 11" receiver extension on the tongue of the trailer so that I can clear my rear door. Redline did something similar, but he had a longer one custom made. The one here may not be the right length, but there are other options out there.

I like this, because it's not permanent and it give's me just enough clearance if the trailer is straight behind, and plenty of clearance if I turn slightly to the left. This might still work even if you're on tight trails, because you wouldn't have to turn as much to the left.

I'm just throwing that out there before you start cutting.

Thanks Tony.......I think i'm going to give that a try!.....The guy at the local trailer store talked about using one but he was out of stock.....Time is short around here...I would rather be spending time with my family out camping then cutting her up.....

Thanks for the push!......I'll give her a try!

As always.....You rock Tony!......Now we will have sweet trailers for the up and coming ET!!! Can't wait for that camp fire talk!!!!

You can connect the trailer and test a couple slight left turns and measure the clearance you need. As noted, the 11" might not be enough to clear that swing-a-way.

Here are several more options if you need more clearance:

At first I laughed at the ones with the step included. But now I wish mine had it for hopping inbetween truck and trailer isntead of walking all the way around.

Doesn't the hitch extension cause the hitch to drag more?

Looks great Nic!

Yes, if you install it in the hitch receiver on the truck, but only minimally if you install it on the trailer in order to lengthen the tongue.

The coupler would remain in the same location with regard to the truck.

Extending the tongue will only affect break-over angle somewhat (between rear axle and trailer axle), but with the clearance that he has on his truck and trailer, it will probably not be an issue.
