Did a 6-hour loop on Saturday, Some freeway, but mostly two lanes and USFS roads. She did great, did not notice any difference from the Snorkel on performances or mpg.

That’s probably some of the best MPG I have gotten. However slow drives will do that. Cruise set at 50

Replaced the rusting AEV hardware, with some stainless. Makes me a little nervous for the hardware buried in the fender.

And for some reason, it eats the driver side lower taillight bulb. Yearly so far like clock work. Every fall/winter. I replaced it with the incandescent, as i keep a pack in the glove box. I also stopped and picked up LED drop ins for the next time.

I wonder why it eats that bulb? Undersized wire feeding it?
I’m not sure, I should ask in some of the ZR2 Groups.

It’s weird it’s only the one side. And the same one. Which ends up being a third filament in the incandescent bulb. And it can’t be a miles thing, it had way less miles on it this year than last.

New hardware for the Snorkel, stainless.

And the beautiful marker, I used to mark the bracket.

I should of guessed it was permanent from the shape. Who knows how long it was in my tool box for the label to be gone.

On the ZR2 Forums, I got multiple responses with others seeing the same thing as far as the bulbs going out. Most said it is where the trailer lights are wired into the taillights. And a bad connection.

Thanks, Its a great little rig. It will need tires soon, and ill bump to 33's. The D max next to it, is my work truck. So the ZR2 does not get many miles these days. I have enjoyed it so far.
My wife’s daily is a truck just like yours and she loves it. We bought it new in 2019 and I think she has just under 25,000 miles on it now. The worst thing about it was the crappy headlights. We switched those out for LED bulbs. Huge improvement!

Edit- just realized I posted on the first page with pretty much the same thing…

No worries, its been a great little truck thus far. Happily tackles whatever you put in front of it. I also have LED headlights.

So I decided I will go with 33’s, I had originally got the AEV 33inch trim kit. Honestly just thinking it would be easier and quicker. It won’t, its actually pretty in depth. But gosh their products are beefy.

So Instead I am going to level the front (At least almost) a 2 inch would level it. I am going with a 1.25 inch. It should get here this week, and is a quick install. So weather dependent maybe this weekend. Then when I do finally replace my tires, it will be ready.

When I do, I will go with Toyo at 255/80 R 17s, On OE rims, so a little narrower. At 10 inches. And 33 tall. With less added weight per tire, than the traditional "33" in sizes.
And the Duratracks (OE tires) are 10.43 wide. This should* Allow it to work well. I can still trim if need be, or do the AEV fenders.

The Trifecta tune will allow me to put the tire size into the computer, to retain stock number crunching.
And we will run with that. Looks like a possible TPMS sensor failure, I need to try resetting it. I am prety sure my OBD2 scanner will do this.

Edit, for me. My trucks, gear, camper, etc. All just a tool designed for specific tasks I need them for.

This nifty little vent mount from CCE, works well. I will eventually pull the dash cup, and mount a recessed RAM Track mount in there…Probably. But I don’t want to pull the dash apart right now. So this will work for the InReach. Since family can’t track me through Mishka anymore, I am using it a lot more when out and about.

Was a quick easy install, and looks OE.

On Saturday I had a few hours between storms to put on the level kit. It went relatively fast, A few hours. Was easier on the ZR2 than a non ZR2 model.

The driver side was actually the worst, just less clearance between the steering components and the third shock mount nut. One where you can only get about one click on the ratchet wrench.
I did not like them (The little “blocks”) being so shiny, so did a quick flat black paint. They went on the top of the shocks on the front.
This brought the front end up to 38 inches. From ground to the top of the fender, versus 36 inches OE. And the rear remained at 38 before and after.

I sure miss having a shop. But am glad I still have a very solid tool inventory.
