Currently looking at Monday to get her back.. I just want to get out on the back roads again. Think I'll be doing trips every weekend for the next few months.

Come up to big bear! Trying to go up next weekend, but I'm flexible.

I'll actually be in Big Bear this weekend, but it won't be in the Tacoma. It's just not the same and I really don't trust a 2WD Rav4 if it snows... not that I would really want to camp on 0 degrees like it is showing for this weekend. Really need to build tent heater, then I would be golden!

I'm always down for weekend runs and I am good at last minute stuff. Normally very flexible, I'll keep an eye on your Big Bear run, sounds fun. As long as I have my wheels back :snorkel:

Damn nice man.

I doing a lot of the same stuff. Hope to have LT soon as well. What tires you gonna run with the LT?

Can't wait to see it.

I would be really interested in seeing your mounting setup on the camper shell as I have the exact same setup(02 4 door with snugtop) and am looking at mounting a basket/RTT in the future possibly. If you could get some pics of the rails/towers or have any parts #'s I would greatly appreciate it! Hope you get this thing back on the road again soon!!

You get your rig back yet?

My Tundra was taken out by a bad driver a couple months ago. It always takes the shop a few weeks longer than they say. :ar15::Mechanic:

I'm curious how you came out on all of this with insurance if you don't mind sharing.

Thanks! Running fairly new 33" BFG ATs right now, will eventually run 35" down the road. Not sure what tire I will go with but I have been very happy with the ATs.

Think I may have some pics of the install somewhere in the build thread... But once I have the truck back I'll take some pics, it has worked well but you will need to watch your bedsides with that shell if you take it off road.

Ya I kind of expected it to take this long, lots of things to take care of and I would rather it be done right. Insurance I would say is going to cover about 65%~ of the total repair cost, with all the aftermarket parts I decided to put in I would not expect them to cover the whole thing.

Want to test it out this weekend? I'm trying to find someone to go to the desert with.

I am bored without my truck, it has been in an undisclosed location for about a week getting some lunar mist. I was told it would be ready by tomorrow but in shop time that means next week.

So I thought I would post "some" of my gear/load-out that I normally have on trips. I am fine with any critiques, as I normally do have the kitchen sink.
Stuffed!

I carry 10 gal of water no matter what. Hopefully eventually 15. And I carry 15 gal of gas now..but my truck gets ****ty mileage so I like it.

Like the other stuff though. How are the tough boxes?? I need something now for gear as most my current boxes are wore out. Are they water tight?

It was "broken" and I had to fix it! Sorry about that.. :p

Still not sure when I'll get it back but some testing will be in order. Have fun out there!

The ActionPackers are advertised as "weather resistant" I have had them in light rain and have never had a problem, not sure how they would do heavy weather. I went through four other types of storage boxes before I was willing to swallow the price for these. But well worth it for me.

I normally keep around 12Gals of water, and 5Gal of fuel, and 15Lbs of propane with me on a daily basis. I have had to use both on several occasions, mostly to help others, a few of them stuck in the middle of the desert. My air pump has also saved a few people. Depending on the trip I can easily double or triple the amount I carry. I also get ****ty gas millage, 15Gal like you have should be more than enough to get out of trouble.
