Been lurking on this site for a while, sorry to hear about your accident! Looks like you will come out on top with all the upgrades though. I agree, installing the winch was a pain in the ***. I too drive a Tacoma, but it's a 2003 access cab. You have a really sweet rig! Keep the pictures coming!

I can't wait to see it with the new fenders installed and painted. Glad you weren't hurt in the accident!
Paint! Who does that? I just want big white fenders on a stock truck Bro..... JK ya would not have gone with the glass if I did not have to, but it should look good after all is said and done, going to be one of a kind!
And thanks, still a little sore in the neck but it's slowly going away.

Felt it was time to finally pull the trigger after the accident, why spend the money stock when better components are available. I am happy with the winch, just wish it was fully waterproof and came with synthetic line, have only had to use it once but it worked great. Suspension should be done in about a week, and all the body work a week after that. Hopefully all in time for Christmas!

Oh and welcome to the portal! There are some great people here, and lost of good info on how to spend all your money... haha

So when will your truck be done?

Was the 30th of November, then the 16th.... Last I heard was Friday the 21st (tomorrow/apocalypse)... :coffee:

The shop kept receiving the wrong parts and I keep on having them do more work. I would really like it back before the world ends because I need it to fight off the zombies and such.
They indicated that they may be able to finish in time but the date may slip due to some fabrication on the bumper. Going to check on her tomorrow and hopefully it will at least be near complete.

P.S. Very nice truck!

So if you can not already tell I went with LT on this build, so here is what I am doing with the front end. Every part with the exception of brakes have been swapped out:

"Built Right Fabrication" Long Travel
King 2.5” x 8" shocks w/remote reservoir and 700LB Coils
Cam tab gussets
Spindle gussets
Coil bucket/double shear UCA gussets
Steering rack gussets on new steering rack
Heim steering
Tundra LT CV Axles
New ARB/Skid plate crossmember being fabricated (flimsy one provided by ARB has been bent for some time)
Glassworks front fenders (have bedsides but will not mount until I swap out the rear axle or Flip-Pac)
Custom snorkel/modification to the ARB
Will add secondary shocks later down the road.

This will work well with my recently installed stainless steel brake lines, tundra brake swap and my Timbren bump stops

Several advantages with LT:
More stable with wider stance
Keeps CG low
Retains ABS and ADD
Can be built to be extremely durable
Better ride quality than SAS with good "all around wheeling"

My goal with this setup was to have something better performing and stronger stronger than stock.

Thoughts?

Damn looking good already. Wat u gana run in the rear, same set up have now??
My rear setup is still very good, but it wont be able to keep up with the front. I am going to keep it until I get tired of the different widths and have the funds for a full length axle swap..
Not sure how I am going to setup the rear when I do rebuild it, needs to be long travel and work with with the weight I carry.. Two things that don't normally come together.

What are you doing with the stock suspension parts. I may be interested and I am local
Some of the good parts up for sale, not sure what parts I want to keep or sell at this point. I'll post something up eventually..

Updates! Well not very much...
Left side and right are almost fully installed, along with the heim steering  super beef! I don't mess around when it comes to safety..

Also some custom fab work on the ARB so it will blend with the fenders:

Feels like I'll never get my wheels back, though it was going to be a Christmas present now it's looking like I might get it back for my birthday. I am getting claustrophobic not being able to get out of the city and have already missed several trips. :(

Still need to have the door replaced, they were clearancing the bumper to make sure the tires won't rub. Now it's off to powder coat for the snorkel, grill and bumper, also the fenders still have to be mounted and painted. :violent-smiley-031:
