Hey, blue It's been a while since I've been on here or pirate but we talked a little back and forth over there. Good to see you on the portal as well. Good folks around here :-) It's your little bro ha ha

I just read your thread on the plans for your rig. I like where you're planning to go. Can't wait to see it! I think the low, stockish look is the way to go for what you're wanting to do. I am contemplating going lower with mine which is possible with the ORI's and a little reconfiguring out...

Lets see some full size pictures...

Yes sir! Out of an 03 Ford F-350 SRW. That means it has the metric bolt pattern and unit bearings, so I want to get rid of the unit bearings some day and convert to the old rebuildable spindle design and properly change over to the 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern. I've got aluminum adapters on there now...

Lets see some full size pictures...

Here are a few of mine. I'm just now getting him into proper form after turning into an overly-extended project. It's been a while since I've posted anything, but the truck's on the site elsewhere. Future plans that pertain to backcountry travel are a removable bed cap of my own design and...

95 2 Door Tahoe SAS project

Resist the urge my friend. That thing is perfect the way it is. If it handles and rides the way you want it, then just stick with the leafs. The simplicity and low maintenance aren't worth trading for the wow factor of links/coils. The slight improvements in ride and off-road performance take a...

2007 Tahoe Build - It Continues!

I was wondering when we'd see one of this body style being used...I like:)

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

Awesome! Easily in my top 3 for the whole thread. My dad had a '79 Cherokee Chief. It was the first vehicle I remember riding in, so I have a soft spot for the old FSJ's.

fullsize/ifs/off-road; can you have all 3 at once?

GM IFS definitely has things about it that aren't optimum for serious off-road abuse, but, with that said, it is definitely not given the credit it deserves. I went farther than what you have planned and put a 6" Rough Country lift on mine with 35" BFG's (with a Gov-Loc 10 bolt rearend!!) and I...

What's the burliest trail/obstacle you've overcome in your full size?

I now have a jeep xj for the tighter stuff, but before my wheeling buddies graduated to more hardcore rigs, I took my short wheelbase Chevy to some pretty interesting places. Even while it was still IFS it completed some fairly tight, challenging trails. Trees are unavoidable where I live so i...

    Petersons Ultimate Adventure Tundra

Ha ha, yeah the bridge always looked old and rusty, but it used to hold up a train and I bet it still would. My dad has told me about times they crossed it when there was no side railing and only two narrow strips laid across the ties for your tires. I'd say it was pretty sketchy feeling up...

    Petersons Ultimate Adventure Tundra

We tried to fight the closure but were unsuccessful. Maybe someday we'll find a way to get it opened back up... Can't believe the flooding you guys have. A couple of us were cleaning up shop when the rain came through my area and man did it pour! The 5 or so inches we got would be something to...

    Petersons Ultimate Adventure Tundra

That's my backyard! And I can't even go there anymore! You just ruined my day. That's a place called Zenith to us locals and the park service has kicked motorized vehicles out of it. I manage not to think about it most of the time, but it pisses me off everytime I do. It's such a beautiful...

It's not pretty, and it's not a Jeep...

T-case is good; should be a np241. If it's auto, the trans should be a 700r4 (at least I'm pretty sure they weren't 4L60's at that point--early '90s I think). I'm not totally sure about the manuals, but I think it might be a nv3500 or 3550. I'm not as well-researched on the manual trans changes...

    You guys and your Jeeps...

Wow...not too many people 'round these parts that would try to pull you out and then leave when they couldn't. If it were me, I would have stuck around til I made sure you were out. You never know if you might need more than one vehicle or person to get something done. In regards to the trucks...

Improving the ride on a 1/2 ton GM truck?

If the torsion bars aren't cranked and the ball joints are new and the shocks are good, the last thing I would suggest is make sure the tire pressure isn't too high. I know that sounds stupidly obvious, but you're knocking out all the other obvious reasons for a bad ride. I drove home once after...

best way to level a 2010 dodge ram

Man that's too funny, I was gonna reply and say a little trinitrotoluene might do the trick. Oh well, you beat me to the punch. Of course, I would have been assuming that the above average folks here at ExPo would know what trinitrotoluene was. Too technical? I've always had a way of killing...

Improving the ride on a 1/2 ton GM truck?

The torsion adjuster screw you spoke of makes me think that the torsion bars have been cranked. Has anyone done this to the truck that you know of? Doing this is somewhat hard on the torsion bars and can fatigue them over time, but that's probably not the biggest issue here. The main thing that...

Intro, vehicle description (95 Tahoe) and question (rather long)

Lucky guy! I would love to have a job that required me to drive offroad and play out in the backcountry like that. Sounds like you've gotten solid performance out of your Tahoe. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your rig, it sounds pretty sweet. If you're looking for some inspiration on what...
