    1. Motorsports Technology out of Reno NV 2. No, the tire remains inside the profile of the fender flare. This is also a factor of the narrower tire, a 265mm wide unit. If you install something in the 275 or 285 range, it may stick past.

I am really not feeling the love on the OiS7. Appears to be designed by a five year old, both functionally and visually.

Overland Journal Project Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4)

Based on my expectation of vehicle performance, I feel the 18" wheel is the most important modification we have performed to the Land Rover. This is primarily because of the durability of a proper LT tire. We installed a 265/70 R18 Falken AT. This tire is particularly durable, yet still smooth...

Expeditions 7: Two Years Around the World on all Seven Continents.

If you can get it as a factory option, that would be my recommendation. Both systems have advantages and disadvantages. E-Locker: - Factory fitment and engineering - Service at most dealerships - Slow to engage and disengage ARB: - Robust case and internals - Immediate engagement and...

It is a great adventure. I did the day hike to the summit and can still remember the crackle of electrical static inside my hood when I reached the hut. Best of luck!

The thumbprint reader is pretty relevant for the traveler. With how much I use my phone as a camera, the improvements to the sensor/lens/flash is also welcome. I am most interested in the new iPad mini. Those tablets with GPS capability are so dang useful.

It really just works, at least for me. Secure, weathertight, simple. I even have the LR4 set up that way - cozy!

Portland to Prescott on a Ural Solo

One more shot. . . The bike fired back to life today, a combination of a wiring harness and a dead Li-Ion battery. Those batteries are tough, but when they die - they are toast. Need to rewire things a bit, increase the cable gauge to the starter, add a mirror and a few more items. New battery...

Both will be awesome. The TAT can be done by any stock, high clearance 4wd with low range and good (LT) tires.

Portland to Prescott on a Ural Solo

The Solo is safe in Prescott, completing the last 800 miles in a trailer pulled by our DII TReK. Despite the abbreviate journey, it was still a wonderful trip. In particular, meeting up with fellow travelers along the way. A huge thanks to Mike for his help and hospitality - it was nice to...
