    New Guy planning....help please!

Your stock suspension will be straining with all the extra gear you plan on carrying. It will be most noticeable when offroad and probably not so bad on the highway (like "fourfa" stated above). Your trip will be a good time to evaluate that for yourselves. I've been really pleased with the...

    Low profile Scepter MFC mounts

AT's are bombproof, and lockable. I have a set in the original steel. I previously had them mounted horizontally (one on each side up top) to my truck bed rack. With a Super Siphon you can gravity feed the fuel from each Scepter can into your gas tank in about 5 mins. AT makes them in...

    New Guy planning....help please!

You're right it wasn't necessary. I was giving a quick welcome and response to "expotaco", and clicking the "quote" button was merely a lazy habit on my part. Sorry it bothered you so much.

    New Guy planning....help please!

Welcome to ExPo Ben! 1.) ARB bumper and winch; you'll be glad you chose the 886's capability to handle the extra weight up front. OME all around is an xlnt combo for the Tacoma as well. 2.) 255/85/16, regear. 265/75/16 no regear necessary. 3.) The plastic gas tank skid will take hard rock...

    Post your Camp Awnings

Thanks REX. It's definitely all about the use. I'll eventually find the time to get on the interior build one of these days.

    Post your Camp Awnings

Maybe next time... BTW, Thanks for all the SAR work that you do. Many lost in these areas of WA would never make it home if not for the countless hours you guys put in, looking for a needle in a haystack.

    Post your Camp Awnings

"Ah yes, 7030, I know the area quite well up there. Deciding whether to go there for my vacation, or back up to the White River campground at Rainier. Leaning towards the latter since it offers very closeup views of the mountain. PS, if you have more pics in another thread, would like to see...

    WASURF63's New ATFlippac

So am I... Just haven't taken the time to start. I've been busy using the ATFP since the day I picked it up in Prescott. Every time I get a few days off and a little spare cash we head out somewhere to explore and camp. No extended adventures yet, but attached are a few pics of the rig in use.

Werner-Portable Work Platform, Home Depot $39. Got the idea from TacoDoc. BTW Corey, that photo was taken east of 410 off FS-7030, near your stompin' grounds.:smiley_drive:

    WASURF63's New ATFlippac

C, Thanks for the compliment. I should be starting on the interior build any day now, but keep blowing it off to go explore, surf, and camp each time I get a few days off. This ATFP is awesome to camp in, even in it's stock form! "If" I was a longboarder and dead set on having them with me all...

    WASURF63's New ATFlippac

It all boils down to personal choice and what truly works best for each individual. Longboard, shortboard, overland vehicle, rock crawler, racks or no racks, it's all good. As long as you're happy with your choice and not sporting what someone else thinks is cool, that's the real buzz. Heck...

    WASURF63's New ATFlippac

I don't think so. Carpeted headliners are usually applied to fiberglass canopies at the manufacturer, (FRP in this case). The Fiamma awning is one of the many additional options that AT offers and I'm pretty sure they installed it (along with my interior LED lights) on the ATFP after it arrived...
