Boost pressure sensor very clean!
One last bit of very important information .... the 16 pin OBDII connector that only has one wire has it connected to pin 7.
That's the K-Line pin, the one that carries the data. All that's needed is a 12v to pin 16 (used to indicate there's power to the ECU)...
The two wires (Memory and Diag) come directly from the engine ECU. Not much use for Owen and others with later models and MUTIII but the "OBD" connector next to those two wires that has only one wire connected to it (on mine) is likely the K-Line connection from the engine ECU. K-Line was pre...
so far worked as advertised. The two wires are directly to the Bosch Pump ECU, by-passing all the non-standard Mitsubishi MUT stuff. Only error codes though, no measurements. For those looking for a way of monitoring it looks like its possible to build a wiring harness to get from the engine ECU...
November last year was a thread on "Code Reader" about MUT and OBD etc.
http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-88402.html
In the middle of it reference was made to "Memory Clear" and "Diag Check" wires for rudimentary reading of two digit ECU error codes through flashing dash...
finally got the camera out, this is ignition on engine not started,
its the red and orange lights in the middle, the red one came on for a while when engine running.
I know its been asked before but I've failed to find one.
Does anyone have an electronic copy for 2005 FG649 Turbo they can send me? 2005 was the end of a run rather than beginning.
I'm really interested in the pretty lights on the dash - the red one that looks like a side on engine (above the...
panic over,
looks like main/dip is H4 size and main is H1
I mistakenly thought (for many years) that H1 and H4 were something to do with halogen light output.
Now all I have to do is find some, in a country where they aren't off the shelf in the fuel station!
silly question.....
for 2005 FG649 I have part numbers for headlight bulbs ....
Main/Dip Koito Japan H460020 12V60/55W 37R(E4)2CN
Main Philips Germany 12258 12V 55W
Does anyone have alternate part numbers?
I'm also trying the tried and true "have you got one of these?" approach,
but my...
not much help with the location of the relay sorry.
a bit of diagnosts I once used on a Toyota was to attach a multimeter to clutch and/or brake switch. When the pedal conditions for switching the retarder are met (foot off accelerator, foot off clutch) the volts will change somewhere. Doesn't...
thanks John,
I wasn't aware of the mine requirement (I worked downstream).
I was aware of the locking rings (there are a few types). For my use the thought of more "consumables" and a special tool got in the way. Perhaps personal, also a single incident a long while ago in which a bearing...
I now have some wheel nut indicators. After one nut on a rear wheel came loose after 8,000 km, the stud sheared, followed by a second then a third before I noticed.
thanks for the nice thoughts guys. Greetings from Kazakhstan! Brain dead after 12 days of the roughest roads we've encountered so far - 120 km/day, mostly at 20 -30 km/hr.
I called it a "drop top".
There's just been a couple of times I've been embarassed by the height. Almost first time out...
not much help with the air cleaner sorry, but after 3 years of breaking tank straps on 649 - the straps that have a "T" that fits in a "keyhole" at the top - I figured they break on rough roads when tank is full. 35mm or longer M10 bolt welded to the end of the strap, so the head forms the "T"...
not that I can see, though there are "handles" so would be easy to tie together with a bit of webbing.
I have singles and put them under the fronts this time as rear would reach solid ground first and have the limited slip diff to help plus fronts had to make new ruts - I was reversing.
Not...
got increasingly tired over several 10 hour days on rough (<20km/hr) roads.
Started making mistakes.
Got bogged heading for nice patch to camp on. Locked the front hubs to reverse and forgot to move the gear lever so got more bogged! Wise enough not to spin wheels but moved enough so front...
