Why are there not more MK III expo rigs on here?

People usually refer to it as the L322, not MK III. There are a couple of them floating around in these forums. The early BMW models are WAYYY less desirable than the later Jag 4.4 and 5.0 engines. The Jags have proven to be bullet proof. BMW did their best to continue the legacy of unreliable...

    Tight budget Disco 2 build

Very cool. I think the DiscoII looks weird without the tube style roof rails. I assume you took these off a 2003+? Maybe go back and grab the facelifted grill and headlights as well?

Which Diehard Platinum for '08 Range and an '06 LR3

Interesting. Which DEKA battery did you go with, seems like there is some debate between the 9AGM49 and the 649MF?

    Duralast Sway Bar End Links

I can't vouch for your experience, but when my rear sway bar link broke the LR3 would buck and and swerve ALL THE TIME. It made any kind of pothole or lane change very scary and unpredictable at >60 mph.

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

@Ray_G Looks awesome. Love the use of grey in the headlight and the cut down but not totally removed orange reflector piece.

Which Diehard Platinum for '08 Range and an '06 LR3

Not sure where the DieHard recommendation came from, but most forums and my personal experience has shown that the Interstate Mega-Tron Plus Part # MTP-49/H8 is THE battery to have in the LR3. Not sure about the RR. *Edited. Having issues now with the interstate after only 2 years. Maybe not...

    Discovery 3 (LR3) and Discovery 4 (LR4) Registry

I kinda like the use of the silver on your truck. It usually looks out of place if they ONLY add the silver rails, but that combined with the grill surround, the running boards, the mirror caps, and bright side trim finishers, it has a pretty cohesive look. I know you're going for an offroad...

New product from Proud Rhino! The SYA Off Road Extension Kit

How is $500 too much? We have some of the most complicated suspension setups of any 4x4 and now this product can be purchased for about the same price it costs a solid axle JK guy to lift his jeep. I'd say that's a pretty big win.

    Compomotive Wheels?

I Haven't actually done it, It just got me thinking since there are relatively few alternatives for wheels available for Rovers. My idea of wrangler wheels was pretty much shut down because of the low offset but now I'm thinking "What other late model OEM SUV/Truck wheels have 5 lugs, a high...

    Compomotive Wheels?

Ah, yeah. You are right. I had my thinking about offsets backwards. If you add spacers to a wheel you are effectively decreasing the offset, not increasing it. But...FYI, RRS wheels and LR3 wheels both have an offset of 53mm. The 20" wheels just end up with the inner lip of the ring being .75"...

    WANTED: 4 or 5, LR3 18"wheels

Plastidip would solve most of the issues with these wheels. All paint chips and scratches would fill in and be unnoticable. You'd still see some of the curb rash, but even that would be hidden pretty well by a coat of plastidip

    Compomotive Wheels?

I've always been curious about this, why is everyone crazy about the compomotives? If I were on the hunt for 18s, outside of the stock LR3 ones, I would probably go with JEEP JK wheels and some hub centric wheel adapters from https://www.motorsport-tech.com/wheel_adapters.html You can easily...

LR3 (Discovery3) ARB Rear Locker installed

I LOVE HDC for going down steep snowy/icy roads. Nothing is worse than having the wheels lock up and have your truck turn into a toboggan on narrow and hilly streets.

    BFG T/A KO2 in 275/55/20 on LR4

No Rods. I'm running an electronic lift via the GAP Diagnostics IID Tool. When I had the 285/65/18s on I had a 2" lift, with the 285/50/20 I dialed it back to 1.5".

    BFG T/A KO2 in 275/55/20 on LR4

Hey, I just did a similar thing to my LR3. I went with 285/50/20 with my 20" RRS rims. I did need to install .75" spacers in order to clear the upper control arm. Prior to my move to 20's, I had 285/65/18s (32.6"), which yes, required that the spare be deflated and forced up into the spare tire...
