There could be something to that.........:)
The only person I've heard bad mouth KM2's is me, and that's strictly because I wish they had a stronger sidewall.......but of all the tires out there I have to choose from, they're still hands down the best choice for my truck......
Here's how my...
They took a lot of weight to balance, some upwards of 20 ozs., on the same wheels I just removed the exact same size KM2 (37"x12.50"x17") off that had been running smooth as silk with no weight for almost a year.
Even with weight they shook.
On the road, they started out as quiet as the KM2's...
I wouldn't trade four sets of MT/R's w/ Kevlar for my KM2's. I hated those d*mn tires.....KM2's blow them away in all aspects on & off road on my truck.
KM2's get my vote.
Might also want to take a look at Toyo Open Country M/T's and Cooper STT's?
I absolutely hated my MT/R's w/ Kevlar.
My current 40" KM2's are smooth up to 80 MPH and have never had balancing weights on the wheels. They do great in the rain, snow, mud, rock, etc. My only...
Currently at 91,000 (very hard) miles and only had two O2 sensor failures over the 9 yr span.......reminds me.......I need to change the timing belt soon :).
I kept my second (replacement) Scrublades on for about two weeks until I couldn't handle the streaking anymore......I'm back to cheap old auto parts store blades and happy with them..........
This, but first break the gears in properly -
After install is complete, drive about 30 minutes and then stop and let the diffs completely cool - then 500 miles with no towing and change the fluid. I'm personally not a fan of synthetic diff fluid, it's really thin - ask somebody like Dynatrac...
I have my transmission, transfer case, & steering reservoir routed up to the firewall, front diff is up at the top of the inner fender under the hood, rear diff is up inside the upper bed rail.
Currently using these Summit Racing breather vents -

That's waht I need to know - thanks!
If I'm in a pinch where I have to tie the rope I'm not really worried about it fitting back through my fairlead - that's what that big ugly stinger on the front works well for.....winding winch rope around in an emergency :sombrero:!
I do have one question, what about field repairs? Can a repair knot be used in this style rope? It seems like it wouldn't be too much fun with the woven covering on it, but then of course.......maybe that's the point - field repairs are a thing of the past since this rope has a superior load...
I bought mine at a local marine store (believe it was West Marine), been working like a champ for years now. I mounted mine right behind my primary battery (you can kind of see the red switch in this pic) I've heard too many horror stories over the years of solenoids sticking and vehicles...
EDIT: oops, meant I'm current running the Sylvania Silverstar Ultras and really like them (a lot brighter than stock and also very white,....I hate blue light for some reason) -

But once they...
Just installed a new Master-Pull 5/16" x 100' XD rope and fairlead, this rope feels tough as hell and will hopefully hold up better than the Viking did......we shall see -
Put together a little Toyota trail ride near Tracy City, TN back in October for Ali at Petersen's Off-Road magazine to do a write up on, the article is out now in the March issue -
