I think the major problems with h2's have been with the tie-rods. They are about the cheapest part on the truck and easily upgradeable. I'm not the biggest h2 fan, but they do wheel very well right off the showroom floor as well as being very comfy. You are right about it being the poster-boy...
Lemo connectors are really well made, come in any config and are milpsec. They are used all over the place but my experience with them is related to motion picture equipment.

pricey but really nice.

I was curious so I just measured my hummer and from the lowest point on the a-arm to the ground, 9.5' to 10' at stock height on 37's. My friend's truck was 10.5' on 38'5 pro comps. It's about 17' to the crossmember, 15.5' to the ucp (you can see it hanging down an inch or so under the winch...
darn, did a quick search and didn't see the 40 in any titles. The 35's size will probably suit me better than the 45, but just came across the 40 today while drooling over stuff at Exped Exchange.
Let us know how you like it! Thanks for the links

hi all
Maybe I'm behind here but I was wondering if anyone has seen/used the new (new to me at least) Engel 40 in person. It's pretty close to the dimensions/capacities of the 45 and the same price as the 35. It's not compatable with the slide-lock so it might have to be strapped down?

they've been shopping around for a while. GM really had eyes bigger than their stomaches...they leased the name from AMG in '99 (originally a 10 yr lease) and started pumping out trucks as fast as they could from '02 to the present. Got a soccer-mom and poser rep because...uh...alot of...
I have a mega warrior with all the goodies I just realized was still taking up room in my basement if you want to see how it fits...and then drive away with it...leaving me with a check or some beer.

I'd like to see this thing next to a tacoma or something similar for comparison...hard to tell what's up sometimes just from pictures.
I too liked the concept, but I also liked the jeep hurricane -- so the cool stuff never really makes it to us mortals.

I know it's been discussed here, and pictures have been floating around of this thing in Moab -- but I came across these pictures on another site and thought I'd pass them along.

they do. We leave them on all the time (mainly the big block batts and their trickle chargers because it's a pretty long charge time). I heard it was started from a blow torch left on by a maintenace/construction crew and not a charger.

hi Rob,
funny, small world -- I do know Eric Fletcher. On-line he can certainly speak his mind and sometimes get under one's skin...but in person he's pretty tame. I think he's been running one of the Mazda race teams this season and will be returning to the show Dexter later this month. His...
have to blame the bean-counters and the american people for that one...they only do what sells and stupid people keep watching it. In this case it was just one shot introducing a character and her extra background...but now that you even mentioned it we are doomed to another Cap 1!

funny thing about the word "jeep" in the minds of those happily trapped on pavement...when I take the top off my hummer there's always someone who comes up to me and says "nice jeep." Must be the seven slot grill.

what in the world is corn cob blasting?
ThomD -- it's the opening shot for a tv pilot called Bad Mother's Handbook...the naughty flight attendant/extra is about to put the moves on a young Elliot Gould. I haven't seen Cap 1 for many yrs...I'll have to check it out again since shooting this...
