How do Gen II's stack up against Land Rover Discovery's?

The disco will have more clearance under the diffs, and is generally better for offroading, however they're also prone to breaking when offroading, worst case you'll break a half shaft, but usually it is the small bits that will break, more of an annoyance than anything The Paj won't be as good...

What did you do to your Mitsubishi today?

Power washed the underneath and tried clean out the chassis the best I could. Freed up the LH front brake a bit, but it is still binding so I'll get some new slider pins. Going to see does anywhere have a replacement fuel filter in stock today, it seems to have lost power, and is losing speed on...

    CV half shaft replacement, issue

The thrust washer on the axle facing the hub has gone on the wrong way. I'm not 100% but I think that the textured side must face the hub Another issue that I ran into, was the lip on the axle (around the circumference of the CV joint) had gotten a bit if a hit, and it didn't sit into the...

What did you do to your Mitsubishi today?

Pulled out the alternator which is my second one in a few months, turns out it was charging, but also toast at the same time, drawing a large amount of current at the ignition position. It needs front shocks, rear springs and she is good to go for her roadworthiness test

    Montero Engine Mods?

Swapping in a 4m41 will be a gigantic ball ache, for very minimal gains. If you drive it in a way to utilise the torque it will end up very thirsty. My 3.0 24v petrol mk2 smokes my friends 3.2 mk3, and when they are getting driven that hard the MPG figures end up very similar. Petrol has far...

The ExPo Mountain Bike Photo Thread

Here is my latest machine, 2014 Kona Honzo 29" It came with some upgrades, 140mm RS Revelation, 32t Raceface narrow wide, SLX brakes and a dropper post. Made a few changes to it, hope 40t expander ring, Candy pedals, Hans Dampf front tyre, tubeless conversion, scored some Magura MTS 2015...

Gen2 overheating when driving slow hills

Are you sure the fans are sucking and not blowing? I've seen it happen to people a few times that they wire them in backwards, and it is fine at a stop, and fine at speed, but it will get warm after a little bit of driving around looking for a parking space or in slow rolling traffic.

    PacS14 Montero 2.5 not really a build thread...yet.

Thats a very nice looking monty you have. What kind of a job was it to change the expansion valve? Mine is stuffed and I wouldn't mind getting it sorted

Need recommandation on 12v air compressor

Wheel Balance question for 33' - steering wobble

Beads do a good job I have found, though if you hit a pothole or dip in the road it will wobble for a second until the beads get distributed again, and you can hear them if you're driving through a village. Try swapping your tyres front to back to determine is it a balance issue or a...

    Another montero wheel question.

You should be able to fit those tyres onto the standard alloy wheels, which are a 7" width, the ones you're looking at are a 6" width, which will still work, but your tyre might wear quicker The wheel says it is not hub centric, but it will fit on the hub, only other problem I see is that you...

    Gen 2 - Radiator

You need to get it pretty high up and warm at to bleed it that way, which is the way I do it too. I once went to extremes though

Cooper STT, Wrangler MT/R, maybe something else?

I've STTs on my pajero, they seem to be wearing pretty OK, but I don't do big milage. They're not a great performer in mud, you've to have a heavy foot to clear them. The road noise off them isn't too bad and they're good in the wet, I'd rate them somewhere between an MT and an AT in terms of...

What did you do to your Mitsubishi today?

Changed my blown alternator for a good one, it was in an absolute pain of a spot, but didn't take long once the but was cracked loose. Doing a brake caliper today and then all is good and ready for more driving

    Are montero's slow?

Hows your trans fluid? mine felt brutally slow when I had it a while, it was my first auto so I didn't really know that the fluid needed changed fairly often, so it went all brown and made the Paj all slow and sloppy. Maybe you should drive mine for a week, diesel with 35s, it has been re...

    Cooper STT Pro

This is interesting, I've the regular stt on mine, mainly because they're good on the road, but I'm not impressed with the way they air down, though it could be the weight of my truck. They don't clear the mud we have here very well either, unless you spin them up, which isn't ideal for not...

    Expo equipment/mod weight thoughts

I like to think I kept the weight of the bare vehicle pretty close to stock. Replaced the factory front bumper and A bar with a big thick alloy one, saved about 10kg. Rear seats are removed, which saved a heap of weight, though I have a storage system built into the boot, which is roughly the...

    Post your Mitsubishi Pajero Pics

Mine and a friends Disco 2 from today. I think my rear springs are shot, with just a bike, a bag of clothes and a full tank of diesel it squats down about 1.5" Few jobs need done too, gots a seized front calliper, and I saw a bit of rust on the boot floor underneath, so I'll get some wire...
