What would be really nice is to duplicate the raising mechanism for a Maggiolina roof tent that cranks up. You can either hand crank it or use a cordless drill to raise and lower the roof panel. The fabric that Maggiolina uses for their tents is fantastic - my maggiolina is at least fifteen...

The Hannibal rack on my D-90 has been outstanding - light, strong, quiet and very useful. There are other similar racks on the market (Patriot?) and you may be able to find a used one.

With a cordless drill and a special socket you can power a Maggiolina up and down easily. You still have to reach up over your head to tuck the tent in under the hard shell though. I haven't gotten this lazy yet but I have thought about it....

I love my Maggiolina - it would be hard to pass up the chance to get one for only a couple of hundred more. They make great tents.

Cooper Zeon 285R60/18 tires on 10-spoke rims - no signs of rubbing and almost no road noise - BFG AT's don't work very well in mud and Georgia has plenty of red clay that turns the BFG's into slicks

My Maggiolina is great - sets up in around 1-1/2 minutes so you can pull in and be ready to sleep in almost no time. Take down is around 3 minutes(takes extra time to lower the hard shell almost all the way and tuck the sides of the tent in) but its a great setup for stealth camping in any place...

I don't know - the SeriesThree is just a bit too modern with the all synchronized transmission and the plastic dash and grill - Series IIA is where its at....
