    110 Expedition/camper

What would be really nice is to duplicate the raising mechanism for a Maggiolina roof tent that cranks up. You can either hand crank it or use a cordless drill to raise and lower the roof panel. The fabric that Maggiolina uses for their tents is fantastic - my maggiolina is at least fifteen...

    Roof Rack

The Hannibal rack on my D-90 has been outstanding - light, strong, quiet and very useful. There are other similar racks on the market (Patriot?) and you may be able to find a used one.

RTT opening and closing with back issues?

With a cordless drill and a special socket you can power a Maggiolina up and down easily. You still have to reach up over your head to tuck the tent in under the hard shell though. I haven't gotten this lazy yet but I have thought about it....

Used Mt. St. Helens vs. Used Maggiolina Purchase opinions

I love my Maggiolina - it would be hard to pass up the chance to get one for only a couple of hundred more. They make great tents.

    Does anyone recognize this tent?

That's a great tent - I have one as well. The rain fly goes all the way down the sides to prevent sideways rain from entering the tent. Set-up and takedown is about 10 minutes and it's got a lot of room inside it - not too big for two people (I can pretty much fill it up with my stuff for...

LR3 owners sound off, which tires?

Cooper Zeon 285R60/18 tires on 10-spoke rims - no signs of rubbing and almost no road noise - BFG AT's don't work very well in mud and Georgia has plenty of red clay that turns the BFG's into slicks

    Some Series Advice

I'm 6'0" and around 225 - I've evolved over the years to perfectly fit a Series truck (been driving them since 1971) - My legs are a bit short for my height and I'm perfectly comfortable behind the wheel - an inseam longer than about 32" may have an issue in an 88.

Mickey Thompson Baja STZ for an LR3

No lift and no obvious rubbing so far (street driving) - they even clear in access mode - I've read that there may be one spot in the LF? wheel well where the plastic inner liner may rub at full lock but I haven't seen any yet.

Mickey Thompson Baja STZ for an LR3

I just installed some 285/60R18 Cooper Zeon tires yesterday - they look pretty good on the truck and are very quiet (new - we'll see how they do after a few miles)

    Some Series Advice

My 1966 Series IIA 109 diesel wagon would max out at about 67 mph but was much more comfortable between 50 and 57 mph. I did balance the engine when I rebuilt it at about the 200,000 mile mark but it now has over 375,000 miles on it and was getting pretty tired and smoky when the gearbox self...

Camp table - easy fit to your vehicles exterior

I made a simple little table that hooks on the ladder of my roof rack and suspends from a rope run out to the far end of the board - sets up in seconds and is handy for making sandwiches on a trailside lunch break

    Roof Top Tents

My Maggiolina is great - sets up in around 1-1/2 minutes so you can pull in and be ready to sleep in almost no time. Take down is around 3 minutes(takes extra time to lower the hard shell almost all the way and tuck the sides of the tent in) but its a great setup for stealth camping in any place...

    Which would you take?

I don't know - the SeriesThree is just a bit too modern with the all synchronized transmission and the plastic dash and grill - Series IIA is where its at....

    Tire decision block!

Time to decide on the new tires for my 2007 LR3 HSE - It has 19" wheels on it now but I just scored a set of 4 10-spoke 18" wheels off craigslist so I'll be going to 18" tires. The two top contenders are the Cooper Zeon LTZ in 285/60R18 and the BFG AT/KO in 265/65R18 which are about $250 more...
