Ram and Ford HD owners.....enter here.

I think that's the point people are forgetting here. The Powerwagon failed in certain areas, trying to beat it at it's own game, would also be a failure. Payload and towing need to be better than a jeep. Super soft springs aren't needed if there are no hardcore trails for the truck to fit...

    2002-2007 f250 V10 options

Fleet vehicles and crate engines for industrial use, may have never had 3v. So I've never actually wrenched on one. Had plenty of 3v 5.4's though. https://blog.consumerguide.com/ford-v10/

Proper way to power fuse block on old pickup

Wire with an inline fuse holder near the battery, to the fuse block. Maybe an 80 amp fuse. Something that pops if the wire shorts out on the way to the distro block. Bestbuy should have battery terminals that accept multiple wires. Sometimes even with fuses built into the clamp.

    I got 6 low.

    New trucks and 4low...

I tow at 70-77, depending on traffic. Usually 5 over the limit. 65 in a 70, is suicide.

    2002-2007 f250 V10 options

2005+ V10's came with the 5r110 transmission that will absolutely stomp to olde 4r100's into the earth. That's the only real plus for the 3v engine. I prefer the less powerful 2v engine. It still has plenty of guts, without costly cam phasers. Then again, if you're buying used. It might...

    New trucks and 4low...

Trailer tire speed ratings are encoded. Unless you have the proper code reader...... That one would be ''ST''. Let me decode: ''ST, 65mph, space shuttle weight rating, nobody cares until trailer tires explode, and then they still won't replace it with a quality tire, made in china, your...

    Tundra vs F150

Well, I appreciate it. People like you mentioned, payed my entire college tuition. I'll keep bay 7 open for your cab off overhaul.

    Tundra vs F150

Frack resale. If you like selling your truck every three years to get a new one, and take the huge depreciation hit every time.... The 6.2l makes 7.3l power all day long. And it's long block replacement, at 300 000+ miles, is still less than the eventual 7.3 rebuild. What you're not paying...

    PTO uses for travel

Overlanding a dumptruck? Overlanding a firetruck, brushtruck? I guess someone has to build the trails, and put them out when they catch on fire.

    The ultimate $3500 Overlander

Wear free shovel is bad luck. Would have to shun them.

    Tundra vs F150

I got out of a 6.0 diesel before people figured out how bad they were. So I have regrets. I got lucky, I didn't lose any more than normal trading a truck, plus discounts on a dusty new one... A friend of mine bought a new diesel during that weird year where Ford had 6.0's and 7.3's on the...

    The ultimate $3500 Overlander

Haha. To be honest, if you rip off all of the junk, and clean up all the extras, it's not really a bad price. Get rid of the cap and camper, keep the rack and solar.

    New trucks and 4low...

Fleet trucks aren't so fleet, unless you're the DOT or a city garage. Many companies are trying to keep field techs now. You can expect loaded XL's, power everything, upgraded stereo. No Fx4 though, bummer.

    F150 - 5.5' vs. 6.5' bed?

I'd rather sleep in a tent anyways.

377 on the RTI, is that good?

There's flex, and then there's just floppy axles. Ever seen a TJ that's flexed so much that it's springs fall loose. I doubt that corner, is going to give any grip. Landrover Defenders had very little flex (most of the time), and they do OK.

    HUMMER H1 vs Silverado.

I wonder if the firewall came back in. That's why I refuse to drive the Express vans any more. I like having legs.

Perfect off-highway tire = LTX? What?

Winter is wet around here. Snow tires are not an option for any truck off pavement. They just turn into muddy slicks. On road, lol, a good MT works fine in snow. Way better than a rain or snow tire does in mud.

    Tundra vs F150

I haven't completed America yet. Don't care about africa. Don't overland with a 10 000# trailer. Yeah, that sounds like fun. And we can drive in snow, now, not an hour from now while filling our neighbors homes with stinky diesel exhaust smoke. Wait until you have to rebuild one for over...

    Ford Raptor for Overlanding

Thanks for the crappy advice. 1000# cargo capacity on the 2017. What's that? Two people a tent, and a cooler. Sounds trucky to me. That's less than my grandma's Subaru. Gatekeeping my ********. Go over your cargo capacity at your own risk, not ours.
