Don't run a slide in, but load it up pretty good. Rides very well on washboards. The stock shocks suck and are the main cause of the harsh ride.
Just a note when using PMF parts. They can only copy parts to an extent, but can't infringe on the patents owned by OUO.
Icon dual rate 4" springs in the front. OUO ALAs to set caster. Stock leafs in the back with 5" OUO Traction Blocks and Bars. Add Ride Rite bags to aid in load capacity. Fox Performance 2.0 shocks on all corners.
i agree that using springs is better than spacers.
One thing you want to address when raising the front is to adjust the caster back to at least OEM, but that is still too low. +5 degrees is where it works best. Too low and "death wobble" becomes a concern, even with all new front end...
While less of an issue, the tracbar ball joint can take extra load if the wheels turn to a side when hitting a pot hole and jerking sideways and up and down.
03 was the first year and as such had a few more things that could go awry. ICP sensor was prone to failure and moved from back of the engine to the right head for 2004. Get a Scangauge2 from Bulletproof Diesel to watch EOT, ECT, HPOP as key PIDs.
My 04 served me well, but had the common...
One shouldn't need a steering damper when properly setup. However, one weak link in the front end is the steering gear through the sector shaft. If the jarring forces can be lessened, this component will last longer. Also will lessen the forces on the tracbar joints, which are known to wear out...
Those parts are pretty rough shape, and will require a lot of parts to make them usable.
I would be looking at 2001-2004 if you are considering leafs for the front. 1999 was a transition year for F250 and F350, and was a mix of whatever parts were laying around through early 2000. Some had...
Hey Chris,
I don't know if it's possible to do anything with the RSC on the vans, but some guys on ford-trucks.com have been delving into the various modules using FORScan to turn on or off or change parameters on F-150s and Superdutys.
I used it to change the TPMS range for my 37s and it...
I read Hennessey at first.... Which would be an awesome upgrade. :D 600 horses http://hennesseyperformance.com/vehicles/ford/f-150-raptor/2015-ford-f-150/2015-ford-f-150-velociraptor-600/
The V8 PSD fills the bay considerably more to the sides. The I6's disadvantage is it is longer by 50% than the intended engine. Would love to have something like MG is building.
