    :) Nice photos, nice truck!

    1985 4x4 pickup.

I owned one of those SFA 4runners. A nice truck, but your 2004 is much better in just about every way. Also owned an '85 Nissan pickup. A very nice looking truck, and pretty well made too. One weak spot is the transmission, which is a pretty glaring weakness.

    Advice on buying a 1986 HJ60...PLEASE!

Test drive it. Make sure it shifts smoothly, including reverse. If it's the one I'm thinking of, white in color, the current owner hasn't owned it for very long, which could be a red flag. It had some clutch issues, maybe they're resolved now. I think it was a US FJ60 with an engine and...

The Restoration And Build Thread For My 1992 FJ80

I just started looking at this thread, and have a question. What did you do with the original stock LC wheels that were painted? They look awesome. Also, what color of VHT wheel paint did you use on them. Thanks.

Good price for a '93 RRC?

Thanks for the tips, Blueboy. I haven't looked at it yet, and not sure I will. Here's the link: http://juneau.craigslist.org/cto/5246995501.html Looks to have photographed around Carcross, Yukon and seems like a legit add.

Yes, so don't molest it too much.:)

    range rover classic vs. fj62

Looks clean. I bet it wasn't cheap. The tires look like they belong on a trail beater instead of a nice one like that.

    Thinking of my first 60

It would probably take a few hundred hours of labor and/or a few thousand dollars to accomplish, but it has been done. Look at that other post a couple down about converting a Troopy.

Good price for a '93 RRC?

Sure sounds like it to me. Of course the devil's in the details. 1993 Land Rover Range Rover Classic. AWD, Automatic, V8. 169,900 easy miles. Long Wheel Base, very roomy AWD, go-anywhere SUV, rides like a Cadillac. Good, siped, aggressive tires. Ready for winter! Full-size original spare...

lightweight 16x7 alloys for a tacoma

Good point. However: 1. I think the tires he's replacing are approximately the same diameter as the new tires. (31-32") 2. Re gearing is expensive. 3. Driving a 2nd gen pickup for awhile would cure him of the "sluggish" impression his truck has left.:)

    2nd Gen 4Runner N130 Reliability

Yes, there are a lot of them here in Alaska. The bodies tend to rust out, like any old Toyota, but they're still kicking. Many Toyota people love to heap praise on the FZ Inline 6 found in the 80 series Land Cruisers, yet they're arguably worse for blowing head gaskets and get lower MPGs than...

93 RRC vs. 06-07 Range Rover vs. LR3

I think you'd be nuts to ditch the RRC, especially for a newer Rover. Buy a used Subaru with airbags for the girls and keep the Classic.

Advice on buying 1st gen 4Runner

That's always been my understanding. Note that some trucks with late '84 build dates were actually sold and titled as '85's. From the All Pro Off road site: 1984 - 1985 In 1984 Toyota introduced the first 4Runner to the US market. It featured a rear bench seat allowing for a total of 5...

Advice on buying 1st gen 4Runner

'84s and some '85's are carbed, a negative in my book, and they generally command an inflated price due to the overly coveted solid front axle. The IFS is a good one, though definitely more complex than the SFA. So, I would look for a later one in the best condition you can find within your...
