Those bearing mounts are designed to be welded on, so the welds should hold up good, either way it`d be a bad design flaw from the manufacturer...

Milled down the joint for the ram:
Cut off the rear mounting point:
And welded the two joints (what`s the right word for this?) on:
Looked for a place to mount it:

I own it. But, i`ll move to Canada in a few years. Not sure what to do with all that stuff then, probably going to rent a container and ship it or something like that...

I always wanted a vertical mill and just bought the horizontal one because i didn`t have enough money for a vertical one. I planned to build a vertical milling head for it, but now i just love this thing and never needed a vertical one...
