Find a BedRug for your model. Padded, super easy to clean, adds a bit of insulation, can put sleeping pads right on the floor. Easy on the knees for us old guys.
33” tires (skinny is better IMO) and very minimal torsion bar crank. Don’t go wild, keep it as close to stock as possible. The service body is a great idea. I’ve considered a style line (very low) height service body with either a taller aluminum shell or an FWC/ATC camper on back as a just...
I currently drive an ‘02 2500HD. Went through the same thought process as you. On my former ‘96 Ram I ran an ARB Sahara bumper (good piece of kit) with a 15k Warn winch. The weight of the two was, IMO, too much for my 1/2-ton even with the solid axles. I tried all kinds of things to help out but...
Front Runner sells a unit that fits behind the front seats in the rear foot wells since you mentioned that area. Obviously, whatever solution you decide to go with be sure to secure them properly so that they don’t become cannonballs in the event of a panic stop.
I use the bed of my truck for...
Our 2010 Z71 Burb still sags a bit with a big load. I like the idea of the air bags if carrying a larger than normal load. Of note on the Z71s: the OEM Rancho shocks are not great. Regrettably, I let the dealership replace them with the OEM units. If I were to do it over again I’d go with...
Thank you hobbsrt. Nice work! Mine looks identical, dman, maybe they changed it in later years. They do sell a new fascia kit that is molded to accept the larger double-din, but it runs north of a c-note. ? I had the same issue with the “din & a half” in my Dodge Ram.
Re: BOSS double din. Did you have to trim the fascia or did you buy a new one? I have an ‘02 and want to change it out to something similar. Thanks in advance for your response.
The G80s (made by Eaton) are plenty tuff and work well but if it got to the point where I had to rebuild mine I’d opt to replace with a Detroit TruTrack. Gears rather than friction packs and virtually transparent in operation.
I also investigated the carrier used on H1s. No fab skills so looked for pricing. ?♂️? Holy smokes they’re expensive. Good luck with whatever solution you come up with.
Thanks for the tour.
Wow, eeriely similar to my setup. Yes, I also have to be modular since I use the truck as a truck. 2002 2500HD longbed with a Leer 122 hi-rise, also using a Roll-a-Cot. I can sit straight up...barely. I have a camper plug in the bed so I chose to use an ArkPak to power my...
Late to the party in this category but another vote for Wrangler Riggs Ranger paints. Tough, comfortable, easily washed. Equally important: price point. I buy several pairs each year when visiting the in-laws in Oregon. <$40, often <$30 if on sale.
First World rant: I’m a perfect 31” inseam...
Full size Chevy driver here...don’t shoot, don’t shoot ?...looking for some advice from extended cab Tacoma owners with the suicide doors. I’m thinking about installing roof rack tracks on my XC Silverado with the suicide doors. I get some flex in the body without the “B” pillars and I imagine...
