Great photos and trip report, very cool!
Can one run this as an up and back route from the south end to decrease the difficulty? It sounds like it might be a bit more than we want to take on but I'd love to see that area.
Great attitude and perspective. :iagree: A little common sense and courtesy really do go a long way when sharing the land with others, no matter the activity. I wish everyone considered this.
mph and SmoothLC said it well. Beautiful film, beautiful locations.
That being said I would hope you are considering the experience of other backcountry users who travel to these places. I feel seeing and hearing a buzzy little aircraft flying around to be a very intrusive and unwelcome sight...
No armor (skid plates, sliders)? I see that as the most common first thing to go for if you're wanting to take something off road. I'm just curious why it was not mentioned, not disputing your answer, as you have lots more experience than I do! I realize this will not help fuel economy but I...
I know you guys were asking Grant... but FWIW I saw some benefits in lowering tire PSI when driving in sand (and on rough roads) in my old Outback. If lowered tire pressures work for a truck, no reason they wouldn't work for a car.
It's hard to tell in the above picture but this was fairly...
I think all the stuff you've done to this is impressive, kudos on creating something unique and different!
I had a '97 Outback with taller springs and slightly larger than OEM tires. It got us to a lot of cool places here in Utah during nearly 16 years of ownership, but sometimes it did limit...
I'm jealous of those that are able to monitor auto trans temp. Mine doesn't do that on our Nissan. I haven't found it to be all that useful, but I do use it for monitoring fuel and I like that it could be used as a scanner so I don't have to bother keeping a separate scan gauge on hand.
Since it's an '06 definitely check for any signs of SMOD. Also listen for timing chain whine that follows RPM of the engine. And keep in mind they didn't make just one of these so don't be afraid to pass on it if it doesn't look right.
How much are they asking? My '06 OR with about 10K fewer...
Thanks for the book recommendation and trip report, I appreciate it! Yeah, Kelsey's books are so densely packed. Sometimes they remind me of reading a bottle of Dr. Bronners soap.
Well, I got through no problem using 801-299-1885, then again I'm in the 801 area code. I don't see why that would make a difference though.

Thanks, yes, we've never been there before but are excited to visit! My wife gave me the Nat Geo Grand Gulch / Cedar Mesa Plateau map for Christmas but we haven't had a chance to get down there yet. Great idea about visiting the ranger station.
I will send a PM after perusing the map, thanks...
Are you trying to contact a retailer or the company directly? As far as I can tell they're alive and well. I just called them and spoke to someone, answered on the second ring and got a live person.
