Thanks a lot! Hopefully you can find some useful information somewhere amongst the verbage. HA
UPDATES
Spent the last couple days working on the Cruiser instead of going out to the mountains. I guess I just decided that I need to start putting in more time on the LX to have it ready for Moab...
I agree! Thanks Dave. Yah I put in new tranny plug in and it's good to go. The old one was stripped BAD but luckily it was just the plug and not the pan.
I actually had no plans to wire the steering wheel buttons for the transmission. I'm either leaving them as dummy buttons or going to wire one side of the buttons for winch controls. Havent quite decided yet and it will depend on how much of a PITA it is going to be.
Thanks! Snow was definitely blowing HARD in that shot. Does make the photo look almost noisy and painted or unrealistic.
@dcoy - lovin' your clean Cruiser! Man I have a soft spot for the 60.
Glad I can provide you with some viewing pleasure! Thanks for checking out my build!
A few updates on the 80...
Ordered some OEM parts for replacing all the seals and louvers on the rear sliding windows. I can see my seals are pretty weathered so I'm hoping that there arent any scary rusty...
Those are some wild photos, crazy contrast between the white-out and my normal expectations of "the desert". That cabin is on my hit-list for this spring, super cool. Thanks for the post!
Sorry I missed this. I have a friend who owns a industrial paint shop. He was going to let me rattle can my roof rack in one of his bays because it was too cold to paint outside. Just before I started spraying he said he had a batch of metallic gunmetal parts going in the paint booth, and said...
I can't believe no one will bite on the 1st Gen Tundras.... I think the market is just starting to really take off due to the relative age of the Tundras and the cost coming down to that of 1st Gen Tacomas. Keep up the good work, I'm sure something will come about. I "heard" that All-Pro had...
Wow pretty legendary collection of 4x4's you've had. Super cool. I'm digging your 80. I bet that V8 just makes it a whole new animal. I'm interested to see how you like the 345 KM2's, it's such a good looking tire on the 80. I almost went that route also but was turned off by their snow/ice...
BrianTN: Did you take your rear seat bottoms completely out? I use the back of my Tundra for storage and wanted to take the seat bottoms out but can't figure out how they come apart!? If you've done this and can shed some light that would be awesome!
Your truck is coming along great BTW.
Another thought to consider would be the 4.0L Lexus V8 from the early LS/SC400's (1UZ). I have no clue if it's been done before or how difficult it would be, all I know is that it's a pretty happy, low maintenance engine that is all aluminum (light) and is pretty basic (before the vvti...
Sorry for the slow reply. No I dont think he does. Although if you browse through some of my threads you can see a ton of photos of the truck out wheeling. Here is one to get you going: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/95178-Crowsnest-Pass-Alberta-Canada-Feb-2013
