    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

Thanks. I haven't put the wheels on yet, but I'll keep that in mind.

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

Haha. Well, it was really handy with removing my ball joints the other day.

If you’re looking for a good “cheater bar” I picked up a spare Hi-Lift handle here for $11 bucks. Works great. https://www.ebay.com/itm/183773492682 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Looking at the wheels, I've been thinking of painting them a "cement gray" type color. Also, I need replacements for the rear wheel flare trim that seals against the body. Local dealer wanted $36 each. Not sure if there's an aftermarket one that's worked for others. Otherwise, I'll order OEM.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to pick up some Spidertrax because I'm kind of in the same boat. I can't justify the cost of aftermarket wheels when so there's so many nice looking OEM wheels people are trying to unload. I just redid my grill and bug guard with those paints. I'd previously just...

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

I found this in a search. Pretty close to how mine would look. Still wondering how the backspacing will look. I don't think there will be much difference.

These paints work really well. Spraymax puts down one nice clearcoat.

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

Yeah, I'm leaning toward that. I was looking into powdercoating, but I'm not sure it's really worth it. It'll be a hell of a lot easier to make any changes before mounting them though.

Look what I found.. So, now I'm trying to decide.. Stock or paint 'em?

Between the roof rack and the new skidplate, I do love the occasion of adding some functional art to the truck.

SOLD: MorningStar SunSaver MPPT 15 with Remote Monitor, Temp Sensor, and USB programmer

That's a good price for everything included. I really like the Morningstar controllers I've used. Just curious, what was the size of the solar panels used with this? I think this one was limited to 200w or less?

Yeah.. I need to figure out something better with those. I may just pull the harness from it and wire it to the rocker panel I was using in the overhead console. I should have gone with the version that used standard rocker switches, but this was a deal at the time. I saw some toggle switch...

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

Thanks. I have a pile of lights and I'm trying to settle on what to use for the rack. Might try two 10" bars with a 6" spot in the middle. I removed the bug guard for a long time as I didn't like the look anymore. I almost tossed it before trying the paint. Now, it's grown on me.

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

I have a tolerate/hate relationship with the fender flares.. They were originally white, but were so pitted I sanded them down and coated them with bedliner spray and black paint. I've had to redo them every year or so as the paint tends to fade. I'm preparing to paint them again, this time...

2000-2004 Tundra Addicted Offroad Rear Bumper

It has something to do with how the later models integrated the hitch into the bumper.

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

I've been slacking here a bit, so here's a couple updates. I got the roof rack installed. I haven't settled on lighting, but I like this arrangement for the moment. I removed the NMO mount and installed a marine wire gland to route wires. Seemed the easiest method as I never got around to using...

Adventure Tool Company's (ATC) 4wd Provan Tiger adventures

Always good to have friends in convenient places. Haha. I'm stuck with a sloped, sinking concrete driveway that limits what I can do. I sometimes miss being in the Springs where I used the autocraft shop at Fort Carson.

    1st gen Tundra, wheels, suspension

I like the OME's I put on my 06 better than the Bilstein's I put on my 02. I had a rear Bilstein fail at the weld which they replaced no questions asked. I still kind of lost faith in using them. The OME lifted the front nearly 3". I feel like it's almost too much. It's certainly ready to...

    Tundra vs F150

Adventure Tool Company's (ATC) 4wd Provan Tiger adventures

The Moog ball joints on my Tundra were shot in less than three years. My NAPA steering rack is leaking after about two years and the tie rods are shot. It's a pain in the ass, because even under warranty it's a big labor cost. That's disappointing about the KO's. I'm hoping that's not a common...
