    fastening to aluminum square tubing

I tried a number of methods while building a trailer lid using square tubing from home depot and lowes. The wall thickness also makes a big difference. I used 1/8" where I needed strength. Self tapping screws had a tendency to fail over time or even initially. I stopped using them...

    No Loss valve caps

Love these things. It beats trying to hang onto the caps or placing them on top of your tire while airing up or down. So far I still have mine.. I'm hoping it also keeps the shop from putting the crappy generic ones on. Might have to grab a set as a spare..

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

Starting another cleanup, upgrade of my auxiliary wiring. This panel allows me to disconnect the rear battery from the engine or to disable battery power entirely. The solar has a disconnect higher up. I also reinstalled the solar panel on my roof as I realized a new layout allows another 100w...

I'll check around for some coating estimates. After how many times I've had to respray the grille mesh, I'm not sure how well aerosol would hold up on the rack. Have you had one powdercoated? I'd be interested in a ballpark figure. Think one or two cans of Steel It would be enough?

    First GEN sequoia bumpers

Addicted Offroad http://www.addictedoffroad.com/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=sequoia Relentless Fabrication makes a nice looking one for the 1st Gen Tundra, not sure how hard it'd be to get one on a Sequoia.

I think this video is the best how-to I've seen done. I think most have reused pieces to fill the holes after the cut. I didn't use the the stuff he used in the video, but I might try that next time.

Thanks. It looked good plain, but I was bored one afternoon and it was a fun project. That aluminum can manage a decent shine if you want it to with some high grit wet sanding and a good polish. I'm trying to decide how I want to paint the roof rack now. I imagine black bedliner spray would...

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

I got a new emblem from Toyotech with my roof rack kit and got a bit creative with it. I'm undecided on the theme yet, but I'll try it out for a bit and see it sticks. I gave the aluminum a polish and then hit it with several high heat colors. I also trimmed up piece of aluminum as a backing...

Should be adding a roof rack over the cab soon. I’m trying to decide what to do with the NMO antenna mount in the middle of the roof. I could just cap it off, but I kind of want to repurpose it as pass-thru for some lighting wiring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Lets talk about camp lights

I like these little USB lights. Cheap, nice output and usb powered. I've found them on eBay for as little as $3. Great for hanging inside the tent or over the cooking area. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HPTMDBW/

    Wireless back up cameras

I had a cheap one wired up for a while that worked alright. Someone around here had a jeep with a camera mounted over a spare and every time I passed by my display would switch to his camera for a few seconds.

SOLD: Optima Battery Cages by RuffStuff

That looks nice! My current tray is made of 16ga and nearly folds up when I try to remove the battery. I'm undecided on keeping the aging yellow top or go with something larger. It's been serving me well for seven years though.

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

Good info. I’m definitely planning on upgrading springs this year. Hopefully this Spring. I was thinking the only real difference with the Overland springs were if you wanted a good ride without weight in the bed as well as loaded up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Yeah, I'll agree there. I find a a few small details on every trip that lead to continuous small improvements in gear and convenience. That plastic coil hose that came with my compressor finally annoyed me enough in the cold weather that it had to go. This hybrid hose seems 100x better. I...
