    1979 J10 I found for sale.

I had to remove black bedliner off my entire truck before painting it, it sucked. The only good thing is that it wasn't really a great bedliner job or a thick coat, but it was still a royal pain in my rear. A knotted stainless wire brush on a 4" grinder seemed to work best for me. You basically...

Full-Size Pick Ups, Builds, Ideas, and Trips.

Just a thought.... What if you get into an accident with your seat mounted organizer and everything flies out of the pouches? Seems like it might be a bad time to have everything not be secured..... I've seen my fair share of rollovers with loose stuff in the cab, never a good ending. Either...

    multi-purpose ramps

Tough call on the ramps. I would probably say that you made the right choice in turning around instead of working your way back into perhaps and even more complicated section. Personally, I tend to take a minimalist stance on gear for the most part. I just think its FAR to easy to take...

    AR: DPMS or Del-Ton?

It all boils down to what you want to end up with. Most people I see tend to buy an off the shelf AR from the gun shop and then spend the next 2-3 years tinkering with it....change the trigger, add this stock or forearm, take that off, etc. By the time they are 'done' they have WAY more than...

    AR: DPMS or Del-Ton?

Another vote for building your own here! I was able to build EXACTLY what I wanted with what I would call higher end parts for about the price of a base off the shelf AR. Aero Precision lower from AIM Surplus ( Aero Precision is probably the major 'maker' of AR lowers, they make lowers for...

Home defense shotgun opinions: Rem 870 or 887?

Interesting. To each there own. The katana part made me laugh.....

Home defense shotgun opinions: Rem 870 or 887?

I was not going to bring it up, but......... Why a shotgun for home defense? Personally, I would probably grab the shotgun last for a bump in the night thing that was INSIDE the house. It takes two hands to operate. It's long enough to be hard to turn around in your standard hallway. ammo is...

    Dodge Cummins NV4500 to G56 - DONE!

Great project! Could you expand on the details about the 2wd/4wd transmission possibly being the same unit? What is the spline count on the 2wd unit? Is it any different? I think the 4wd unit is suppose to be 29 spline. Also, could you take a few length measurements of the transmission and...

    Project: Doitall Dodge

I rotated the tires by myself tonight....with a bottle jack, a jackstand, and a star wrench....fun....... I discovered a little bit of cupping on the front tires on the inside. I think it might be time to invest a little money and time in the front axle.

What i would build if $$ was no object

Agreed! I need a shrink ray set to 80% for my Dodge....well other than the tires :) And the axles :) I would try a 4bt cumming no problem. I just need the body to be slightly smaller with more visibility over the hood. And redo the rear end behind the axle for a better departure angle.

JK 4-door to 2-door long wheelbase conversion.....

Another white 'chop. I think the all while flares are a little much. I would rather have the base black textured flares..... This could be fairly accurate if you where to take a stock 4-door top and stock 2-door top and graft them together in the middle. Then remove the side windows with a...

JK 4-door to 2-door long wheelbase conversion.....

I wanted to see it in 'expo' white :) Thanks to JP magazine for the donor pic. The definition is a little washed out, but I like the simple clean looking while 'PanelWagon' The idea is getting really close to what I want in my head. Now I just need to investigate some construction options.....

    Rubicon Unlimited vs Unlimited Sport

I have to agree that even a stock 'base' model Jeep can do FAR more than most people think..... Its a fine line to pull off a modification on a stock vehicle and have it work as good or better than stock in all circumstances.....and long term durability. When you start having to figure in...

    Project: Doitall Dodge

You can always look into blending and/or Biodiesel ;) I've had good success in my truck with whatever I put in the tank, it doesn't seem to care that much. I don't run 100% alternative fuels all the time, but I have run enough to know that my truck isn't going to blow up running the stuff. I am...

Could not sleep Dumb Idea or Genius

Winching it up and down is going to be challenging to do over and over again without damaging the unit. I think some hand crank jacks would be pretty easy, you could also use them to level the camper on uneven ground. Cool project, hope it works for ya! Getting a truck like that through the...

That is LAME! I just checked the 'build your own' thing on the Jeep website. Yup, 2-door doesn't come standard with all that stuff.....4-door does....

JK 4-door to 2-door long wheelbase conversion.....

I did a little more digging into this over the weekend.... It seems that Mopar is listing a seperate part number for each part of the JK8 body kit. For the long wheelbase conversion you wouldn't need the full kit. Perhaps ordering just the 'J8' parts would be the way to go.... Anyone want to...

haha, while I think for some people keep the 4-door makes sense, for me, the 'PanelWagon' concept wins out....

Could not sleep Dumb Idea or Genius

Sure, why not. You could run the tent trailer the other direction if you found the right one. A fold out going out both sides. The trailer could be mounted on some jacks similar to what you would see on a hard side slide in camper. The jacks could be run down and the truck driven out from...
