Thank you very much. I wish I had more time to get more little stuff done, but I think its still pretty cool! I will be running around EJS thurs-sunday in it. I hope it doesn't draw that much attention. I have lots of other stuff I want to check out :) While some of the pictures start to make...

Still the original Getrag.......300,000+ miles. I built a new PTO side plate that allows me to overfill it a bit. That seems to really help.

I'm probably going to go with 3.73's in the long run.......with a 2003ish 14-bolt rear axle with factory disc brakes. The 3.54s actually work really well overall I feel. I don't tow that much with it, but when I do I can tow 90% of the time in 4th gear at 60ish without having to go into...

Use review update.... I recently towed my piece of junk trailer over to Moab for the weekend with my Willys on top of it. Overall I would guess it was about 4000lbs or so ( Willys + trailer ). I thought I would share a few observations. -A hard side camper shell rocks when the wind blows...

Thank you. Yes, a lot of shakedown runs end this way. All the big stuff seemed to work really well, even somewhat hack stuff like the 2pc front driveline seemed to work out better than I would have thought. Now I am basically chasing down and fixing all the leaks in the old parts. Its not the...

This was from when we first fired it up driving it around the house. I don't know why, but I really like this pic. I think this makes it look about like it does in real life......

From Pirate. I didn't want to retype some of this stuff.... The jeep sits LOW. The rear end needs a slightly longer and/or slightly different shape shackle I have some contact issues between the spring eye and the bottom of the rear 'bumper'. I think a 1" longer rear dogleg shackle should fix...

Just got back from the Moab shakedown run, I will try and get a pic or two up soon. Summary: It was a thrash to get it running and driving.....and rubber parts tend to stop working after 2 years of no use.....

I also have the DXF/DWG file for the side plates. I couldn't figure out a way to post that file however. The PDF worked for other people though? Good to hear if it did.

Well, I tried to take a few more pics. I am kinda rushed these days, and cage building expert I am NOT...... The basic cage is all in and tacked heavily. I will be pulling it tonight to final weld.... Its just your basic cage. Front to rear ( A to C pillar ) cage design. I think it turned...

A small hydraulic press brake in the shop where I work. Sometimes its nice to have access to stuff like that. It took like 15 minutes to bend all the plates and sand all the corners.....

Thanks. It was a learning process. I had a few little bugs that didn't make me too happy. The windshield angle ended up a little too upright. I will need to rebend the windshield mounting frame a little bit to get the angle right. The one bonus to that is that with a slight bend to the frame I...

Today was fun.....LLLLLOOOONNNGGGG day. This morning's shift.... -Installed the shocks at all 4 corners -Installed the front shackles. -Gave the front a tape measure alignment, approx 1/8" toe in. -Set the front end on the ground with weight on everything. -Climbed on the bumper and bounced up...

Yeah, it's a good thing I work alone in the shop. I must have been a sailor in a past life.... I should have a pretty good update late tonight. I did about 3-4 hours in the shop this morning, took a lunch brake and parts run to town. Now back at it again....
