99' XJ: Slowly Going Down Under.

U-Joints can be a tuffy, so i've heard. I really like the steel look over my previous wheels. The good ol'e Dodge... Square headlights ******.
All right, so I am anticipating a piece, or should I say pieces, of cargo for this summer. In order to stow this cargo, I had to purchase a roof rack.
What I picked up:
4- Yakima 1A Raingutter Towers
2- Yakima 58" Crossbars
1- Yakima 48" Fairing
I only payed $115 for this set-up... thanks to CL.

All right, so I got my RTT squared away. I got in on a killer Groupbuy through gitout.com. The deal? 30% off. Perhaps this was not the best timing, since i'll be moving in August, but I honestly could not just pass up this killer deal. I easily saved over $500+ dollars, due to the 30% off retail price and $200+ for shipping. The company, CVT/Cascadia Vehicle Tents, is an upcoming RTT company that happens to be based right on the other side of the Cascades from me in Bend, OR. After reviewing their products, as well as reading testimonials, my mind was set on purchasing one of their products. The owner, Bobby Culpepper, is one exceptional man. Bobby, and his employee, conduct their business very professionally and are second to none when it comes to customer service.
Every time I called Bobby, he always picked up. The questions or concern I had were always responded time with help and suggestions. I am glad I got in on this group buy, as well as the chance to support an Oregon-based company. Anywho, enough with the spiel and now some pics!

I like the color of the mattress in your tent. Sure wish mine didn't have some motif borrowed from a Granny's yard sale. 
Its a camping tent... Why does it need floral print or stripes?
Do you have to squat much to walk under the tent when its opened?

Now that's funny.
I have to squat a tad, but it is pretty spacious in there. Granted, I am only 5ft 7in.

Yeah... My RTT is mounted on my CJ8 Scrambler right now. I'm 6' but the jeep is SOA on 35s so I don't worry. Now once it goes on my stock XJ I will be inspired to start lifting it I'm sure.

Up next, replacing the Neutral Safety Switch (NSS). I encountered a problem a few months back while exploring up in the Cascades. I was unable to utilize 4th gear, which left me cruising at 50MPH, in third gear, 2500+RPMS, on the highway. I went to AutoZone, got the CEL pulled, which lead to a bad NSS. Although I have yet to encounter the same thing in a few months, I would rather just replace the 12 year old OEM part. I went ahead and purchased an OEM NSS, and it'll be getting replaced here soon.

My girlfriend and I, well mostly me, decided that it was time to get out of the follow and hit some backroads. Our destination? Kilchis Falls, Bayocean Dike Road, Cape Lookout, and Pacific City. We headed out at 11AM Monday morning to seek some adventure. This was in fact, the first time we got out alone together, so it was quite the enjoyable experience. Anywho, we had an absolutely blast and are in the midst of planning another trip in the coming weeks. What's a post without pics!

I was in a somewhat remote area. I'm not sure if you've ever seen Ax Men on History Channel, but in those mountains, that's where some of the companies do their logging. I was a 10-12 miles off HWY-6, which takes you from Beaverton (Portland Metro-Area) to Tillamook (Pacific Ocean). It was awesome to get out and explore the backroads. Man, you must be **********-dab in the middle of a big city.
