Here's another project waiting to be installed. I had made a previous set but not quite happy with them so I decided to start from scratch and make some improvements. Here's some pictures showing the process involved in building some simple cabinets. I also added some small lights that will be wired on a switch by the side door... Now that I no longer need to get access behind my wall panels I should be good to mount them (top corners on each side of the ambo).

Looks like you're making good progress. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
I wish you were on the same side of the pond. I'd bring over some beverages and we could knock out some camper interiors for our Ambos. Working solo always seems to take so much longer to get it done.

IMHO one of the advantages of Ambo boxes is they already have interior cabinets etc. You only got to modify them with sink etc. Great for those thinking economically in amount of work and extra cost. Nothing wrong with taking out interior and putting your own version inside. It's just more time and money to take out and put back a different arrangement of interior to fit your needs. If you got the time and money.. Go for it.

As a kid I always preferred getting Legos than any other toys simply because I could build them and modify them. Seems like I haven't changed much.
The stock interior would never have worked for me. I needed extra seats for my kids (who also love Legos), couple beds, toilet, cabinets, fridge, etc... no way I could have made it work without major modifications which brought me to where it is at today

Productive day for a Monday!
Finally replaced the upper cabinets and made up the corner ends which were a little tricky to figure out.
Installing them without help was another hurdle but at the end i got it done.
For the end corners I made templates and also wanted to make sure they could easily be removed. Seems like a good spot for some small speakers or a secret stash, lol
The side panel is the only part not glued in but held with screws for easy access.
Moving along!
I was gonna built more cabinets above the back door but they'd be a concussion hazard. Instead I simply mounted a flat angled board and I'll either attach a net all across or make fabric pockets. Either way, they'll double as head protection.
And my buddy Jay came to give me a hand at wiring the lights. They can be turned on/off either from my phone or a switch by the electrical panel. Now I'll be able to see inside the cabinets at night or simply use them as ambiant lighting
Next I'll be installing some led strips under the cabinets for proper lights. Those will come with a remote control, can be dimed and have various colors.
Anyhow, I'm a satisfied owner! !!

True enough but I got some other good hide outs
One thing though, I should really have run speaker wires before mounting the cabinets, arghhhh!

For those of you also visiting the SMB forum this will be redundant but I enjoy very much both forums and copying/pasting my posts between the two makes my life easier. Hope no one mind!
Quick little project, added a net on the new back board above the doors. Perfect place to stash your clothes when going to bed.

My rear ac was in the way to finish building my upper cabinets and was leaking. I got a local shop to cap the rear lines, test the main system and refill it. Now I got cold ac Not cheap and not really needed here in BC but should be nice for the kids when we travel down south or to the east coast!
Good timing too since my wife wants us to hit the road mid March for 2 weeks. She said the closest place to get warm weather. Vegas???
In the mean time, my next project will be a major one!!! Here's a clue

I got rid of it!
My ambo is really well insulated and the main (front) AC will be plenty for me as I'm just not a fan of AC. If I was living down south it might be a different story but I live in a rain forest
As a backup plan I can always have a heavy curtain directly behind the back seats but I can't imagine ever needing it.
