Body width of an FJ40?

Might someone with an FJ40 take a measurement for me? What is the width of the body as measured behind the rear tires not including the flares. Odd question I know, but I am trying to determine if a Kaymar bumper for an FJ40 could be modified to fit a Jeep Wrangler LJ. The LJ body measures 59 1/8" and if the FJ40 measures between this and about 60" the Kaymar should fit quite well some with some mods to the mounting points. Of course the factory tail lights on the Jeep would need to be removed as well.

This is the bumper I am thinking of.

If you don't get an answer before tonight, I can measure mine when I get home and let you know.

65.6 inches
tlc4x4 site.
Another site
1665mm at this site. divided by 25.4 that's 65.55"

I saw these figures on the TLC site as well, but I suspect this is the widest part of the body including the fender flares. Hence my desire to get an actual measurement of the tub behind the rear wheels. The official width of my Wrangler per Jeep is 66.7", but the tub only measures 59 1/8". The difference of 7.5" is all in the flares.

There are no flares on a stock FJ40, so those numbers are probably correct.

Mine measured roughly 65" with at least a 1" margin for error. That was from the tip of the rear fender behind the tire all the way across.

Thanks Jacket. The tub is a bit wider than I was hoping for which means the bumper is too wide to fit on a Wrangler. Oh well, it was a good idea while it lasted.

The Jeep bumper Man-a-Fre has is for the Cherokee.
