Sweet build man, i own a 01 4.7 ext, its only 2x4, so im looking into a Tacoma in the next few months, but id hate to loose the bed space and cabin room. how does it handle on the trail?

With my set-up now it handles the trails very well. It's not as narrow as the 1st gen Taco's, so you do have to pick you lines a little better if you're worried about your paint. This truck has seen every possible weather mother nature has offered and its brought me back everytime. There are a few issues that can be resolved through aftermarket support (coilovers, locker, UCA's)

For me it would be hard leaving the V8 club and the Tundra club. It's the perfect size truck for the majority of offroading trails out there, very reliable, quiet, smooth, and great looks. I've looked at Tacoma's, 4runner's, Landcruisers, FJ's, new Tundra's, and I just can't let this truck go! You just don't see too many lifted, expo'd out Tundra's...

Picked up a nice Carryboy Shell off of craigslist. Now I have a place to sleep! It came with Yakima mounting rails already installed on the top, but no rack. Anyone know of a roof basket that will mount to the Yakima mounts?

Ya man I agree with you. And once you rig out a Taco your MPG goes way down. What Mpg are you getting?

Same will happen with the Tundra, weight is weight. I don't really calculate mpg's as it is a truck and I know its not that good, so I save myself the frustration. If I had to guess, probably 13-14 in town, maybe 18 hwy. If I regeared to 4.56's my milage and power would increase significantly.

Thanks! All you need is a RTT and you can sleep again! I like that front bumper, and I wish my truck was white...

Agreed, but easier to weigh down a V6. Do you have your camper set up with any drawers or sleeping areas?

Yeah your right. No not yet. I'm planning a carpet kit of some kind, but that may be a while. All I have now is a lounge chair padding, a sleeping bag, and a couple of spiders to keep me company!

Wait till you buy a house and the pillows move in, then you really have no money.:Wow1: BUT I did order a trick new part to the tune of $1700 and a 5-6 week delivery time.....can you guess what it was?
