These are my favorite. I grewup on Bisquick and then discovered Pioneer Brands.

I am one of those people that have to make them look picture perfect. I set the cast iron skillet temperature just perfect to get an even golden brown. Spread and even coating of oil so there are no blotches. Get the batter just right so they cook fluffy but, not too thick, not too thin.

Can I consider them homemade if I actually work at the plant that makes the mix? I love my job.

I see no reason you can't call them homemade:chef:...especially if you have a couple of free sample boxes of mix :sombrero::wings:

What about the art of pancakes? I do the happy face thing sometimes. A couple of drops for eyes and then a strip for the smile, wait a few moments then pour the rest of the batter.
Mickey mouse pancakes are fun, I made those for my son when he was little.

Thank you , you use so much butter :Wow1::) some people concern hay healthy that , but i said what a hell it must taste Good :wings:.

Me i ask you hay heavy thick your pan , you did not use cast iron at all ?
The reason why i ask , cast iron have chance keep stable temperature , other way you mast work hard and paid attention watch every second :Wow1:, so blintz do not became to dry or over crispy .

Thank you to shear your :chef: secret .:victory:

Full plate of Good blintz , honey , strong black tea , nice sunset , fire in the back hay priceless is that :chef:

I find the first few are throw away till I get the heat down when camping and they are never as quality as home but :) they taste better cause of location and being outside

I use cast iron sometimes and got a large griddle for outdoors at home to try out ?
but inside I use cast iron when I want a crunchy edge version and yes lots of butter :)

When I worked Security at the Grand Teton Lodge Company we had a Chef that made the most coveted pancakes I have had. All of the staff raved about how good these cakes tasted. I overheard several of them asking him what his recipe was or his "secret". He wouldn't share. One day I opened the lodge a tad earlier than normal and was doing my early morning rounds and swung by the kitchen. I observed our chef filling a 2.5 gallon bucket with Mountain Dew soda and dumped it into a commercial mixing bowl. I looked at him most perplexed and he turns to me and tells me " you have to keep this to yourself O.K.!?!" I went over and looked into the batter and said to him "Pancake Secret Eh?". He said that he had been trying different soda's in the batter.

Long story short..... Mountain Dew and Orange Crush makes some Mean Pancakes!!! I tried both after that summer and they are fluffy, flavorful and terribly bad for you. :wings:

I can do it for the kids but only on special request of my youngest daughter. Other than that, I am striving for that perfect stack.

If the weather cooperates tomorrow morning, I will be firing up my Camp Chef Denali with the new Lodge cast iron griddle I picked up today to try the Kodiak mix.

Let us know how that works out. I have always wondered how well the Lodge pre-seasoned cast iron worked.

Will do.
I will be wearing this gadget.
It does not have a light source of its own, but it shoots vids and pics in full HD wide screen.
The porch is semi lit, so it should work I hope.

I am going to try the mix in a plastic shaker bottle I have had for eons, so I hope the mix turns out in it OK.
If it does, it will be a great way to make them in camp without having to use a mixing bowl and whip.
