E-350 box options

I found a place in North Carolina that has 100s of E350s with10-12’ boxes on the lot. Many have the higher spec trim package. as of a few days ago, they had some pricing errors, the trucks were priced as bare trucks and did not include the box. So if the price is in the high $30s or low $40s, add about $15 for the box.

Sweet! great info. thanks. Having you done any research on what shipping costs would be? I have heard anywhere from 1-2 dollars a mile.

Can anyone recommend a shipper and estimated cost on shipping an E350 10' box truck? I have heard estimates from 1-2 dollars a mile.

I'd buy a ticket and drive it back. This summer I've gone on 3 major trips and over 3000 miles... and all in a 28 year old truck with 250k miles on it.
Once the vehicle has been UJOR'd, I might consider. I have no desire to drive a stock vehicle from the East Coast to the West Coast.

If you are interested in the vans I posted in NC, just have the dealer drop it off at UJ in NC.

Otherwise, $2/mi sounds cheap for someone who is a legit hauler and is insured.

Yep, that could be an option. Thanks again for that great link you sent me. Still looking like mid-October for when I will have all the money. It should be pretty easy to find a new box truck for sale. It really comes down to UJORs schedule.

A member on the SMB forum drove a ‘99 7.3 from FL to CA for me. I paid his airfare out there and expenses on the way back. He’s done it for a few members. Good guy. My van had multiple problems along the way, and he went above and beyond dealing with them.

$2/mile seems high for longer trip. If I wanted a vehicle shipped from back east it would be $7000 for 60 hours on the road. Probably be done in five days making it $1400 a day.

In the past, if you weren’t in a big hurry, transport jobs would posted and different haulers would quote on them and you could choose the best quote you were comfortable with. With a little luck you’d find a hauler that was going in the direction with an empty truck and you would save a bit only paying them for one direction.

If I didn’t have a ton of other commitments I’d drive across the country for $1400 usd a day. One trip would cover the cost of a car I’m considering buying.

Be careful with that dealership, I've heard they're in trouble with Ram & Ford for shady actions. And a ton of false advertising/incorrect pricing. I personally wouldn't buy from them because of the false pricing, spoke with them recently about a rig they had.

OH MY! I looked at their website, and they had a lot of new box trucks. Unfortunately for me, all of the new box trucks for sale are on the East Coast, and I am in CA. Wabash and Rockport. No idea why you don't see them for sale here. Who would you recommend buying from on East Coast? Do you also have a recommendation for purchasing near Justin's shop? Also, can you recommend a shipper, and have a ballpark estimate on cost per mile for shipping a 10'?

I also spoke with them, I did not get a nefarious vibe from them as much as incompetent people managing the website. Thanks for the heads up though. I think I am going to wander past their dealership, just to see what they have, I also want to stop by your shop to meet in person (We have exchanged a few emails already.)

I had a truck lined up at a dealer up north, I told the salesperson that I wanted it but they wanted to work out some transportation details. Another salesman stepped in and sold the truck.

Now I am back at square one, might have to order a truck. I really wanted to have this mostly wrapped up by spring but it is looking like it is going to be more than a year process.
