Electric winches on expo trucks.

Hey Mick. This looks better, hey? (These are the same brand as Mickldo is always talking about)

They are made here locally (well Brisvegas anyway). Military spec worm drive winch. Only pull about 320Amps and as tough as nails. External breather and you can turn around and mount them any way up you want. Bend the lever anyway too. Not easy to fit cause most aftermarkert bars you buy are setup for Warn or Warn clones and as you can see they are nothing like it. The hydraulic version and prop shaft version are exactly the same but without the electric motor. This one's been modded for Synthetic rope so all the sharp edges where the rope secures have been smoothed off. We've also fitted our own winch single changeover relay, cordless remote, dash mounted control and a keyed "lockout" battery isolator.

Yeah, that is the same type as what we fit to the Ergon Nissan Patrols. The ones we fit to the trucks are the same except for the electric motor is changed to a hydraulic one. You are right about bending the lever. When we did the prototype bars for the Nissans we had to give the lever a 45 degree bend to miss the spotlights. Now they all come pre-bent from ATS.

Looks like you have been having fun with that tubing bender too. Looking good.

BIG hydraulic APE

We just got the MAN back this week from Brisbane where the owner had organized to have this winch and bar fitted. Really top quality work but not sure about the approach angle now or the resevouir tank location. Thought I'd post these up here as it sort of follows on from the previous ones which are of the electric version by the same guys at APE. Not 100% but I believe this one's rated at 20,000lbs. It certainly looks massive to me anyway. I will check on this and correct if it isn't. Obviously this isn't the shackle to be used either.
