LOL...

No, its just a red stripe. Was not aware of the Feng Shui thing, and here I just thought it was relaxing to be out in the shop because of the beer. Interesting.

Nice use of the space James. Must have been quite a project to "raise the roof". Hopefully you aren't planning on doing any welding or flame cutting on that pretty epoxy floor!

Nice garage James! Sort of similar to mine, but colours are different. I've got grey on the bottom, blue stripe, and white upper half. I did grey epoxy on the floor as well, but I've been doing some heavy work in there so it's pretty scratched, chipped and burnt.

I'll might try and upload some pictures, but I don't have any glamour shots.

What's the deal with your mill? Looks like a little CNC?

This a garage to kill for (ok killing is maybe a bit to harsh, how about a good old fashion knee capping). This belongs to a friend of mine, I happen to be working on his log home at the moment and thought I'd share this one with you all.

45x60, second story loft apartment, radiant heat concrete floors powered by a gas boiler with free gas from the property's gas lease, 15,000 lb lift, full kitchen downstairs, 42 inch plasma TV and 4000 watt stereo, metal brake, lathe, and end milling machine, plus alot more in undisclosed rural location. The toys that reside in here range from a 68 Camaro built to the hilt, 78 Suburban lifted, locked and big blocked, sweet orginial Jeep Commando, and an in progress all steel '32 Ford coupe.

Enjoy and don't hate your garage.

OMG! Thats not fair! I dreamed that one up years ago.... I mean to the "T."
Sadly, I am still dreaming. :(

SOmehow I missed this thread. Some pretty cool "man-raages" here. The only thing I don't like is the inferiority complex I am developing.

Yes, it was quite the project, but it turned out well. With the two new 16 x 4 LVL's on each side, its much stronger than it was.

I put two coats of the epoxy on the floor, and it looked great in the beginning. I have done plenty of welding and grinding in there, without much problem with the floor, the biggest thing I have notice is dropping heavy tools or parts usually chip it up pretty badly. I usually mop it once a week, and it still looks pretty good althought it shows some wear.

Yeah, I figured I would take these pics while it was clean. They only look like that when they are new! My floor is holding up OK, I wouldnt say its perfect, but certainly better than raw or sealed concrete. Metal work takes its toll on a floor, thats for sure.

The little mill and lathe are units I bought while in Germany, I used to own a small business that among other things, made small custom one off parts for the R/C industry. Its not CNC right now, but I have the option of going to full CNC if I decide. Its about an extra $1000 bucks for the CNC set-up, not including the software. I am really enjoying it as a manual mill right now, the DRO makes things much easier.

Just finished looking at this thread, again. Makes me want to go out in the dark and start cleaning!

Threads like this keep my mind on track and the vision that I want my life to occupy in the future to be clear.

My current 2 car garage (really about 1.75 lol) is too small, too short, and too attached to the house to do any really fun stuff.

I want to have a true shop one day, and I'm trying to convince my wife we should downsize from our current house so we can save up and custom build our true "dream house".
Translate that into guy speech -- I want/need a place with a little bit of land and a detached shop to keep my sanity. :D

i just moved so it's a big work in progress. Finally got everything into a somewhat organized set up. I'll be sheet rocking in the ceiling. adding some lights and installing some kind of floor (don't know yet). Went to Sams Club and got a bunch of cabinets and a work bench

The worst part is, we had a chance to move into the back unit of our duplex about 1yr ago - the back unit has a 2car garage, carport, and parking for one more car, all behind a locked gate. Instead, my Porsche is on my lawn awaiting a timing belt and my motorcycle is in the side yard under a tarp. All of them have been keyed or broken into at some point, too. D'oh!

Ive got lots of garage pics:sombrero:

Mine seems to always have a project in it. it never feels as big as it really is :snorkel:

Ive got a 24wx30d garage with a 14' ceiling and a 9'x18' highlift door with a sidemount opener.

Fully insulated with heat, loads of lighting, sink, etc.

More of a glorified garage than a shop, but I call it the shop :ylsmoke:

Did I mention we have a killer view??

Looked like this 3 years ago when we purchased the place.

2 years ago I went to work on it.

My shop

My 36x36 shop I built a few years ago. Took me most of a year to do it all.
Steel structure with wood purlins and joists (2x8 & 2x6). Fully sheetrocked and insulated (sheetrocking 18' ceilings with 12' sheets sucks).

Wish I could say is still looked that empty. I need another shop just to store all the other stuff now. Got a lot more equipment since then (newer mill, lathe, stomp shear, saws, metal rack, table saw, forklift).

Really want a plasma table too. Maybe an ironworker, and a tubeshark tube bender!!:wings: (dream on)

And about how it looks lately, minus the trim that has since been installed.

Nov14_01.jpg

On the inside it includes many of the fun tools.

20' worth of work bench, shop press, drill press, overhead hoist, chop saws, slew of hand/power tools, welders, compressed air, heater, etc, etc...

And the latest project emerging after weeks of being in the shop... :victory:

My Garage is the place I do all the work on our trucks. The main problem is that its 1-car garage and I have 2 trucks and a trailer. So it's packed-up with allot of stuff. I live in a townhouse, so there is not enough room around anywhere and considering cold Canadian winter I have to move backyard furniture into the garage for winter as well.

[picture]

I wish I have something like this (3-car gagare) + heated!!!:
