FORD RAPTOR EXPEDITION (pics)

I'm stoked a manufacturer decided to finally make a special edition of a truck with long travel, instead of a lowered street queen or a crawler.

You seem to be forgetting about the Power Wagon which has been out for several years now.

Bring back just the simple reliable old style bronco. Hell even use the same body panels ect. It would be a huge hit.

Simple basic interior with AC and a cd player/radio
selectable lockers front and rear
small Ford V8
manual and automatic transmissions
Super crawly low range
fully skid plated out under belly and rocker panels
no carpet! Rhino lined at the factory
33" tires with optional 35"
factory mounted 9K Warn winch up front
Roll cage tucked up nice and neat
same size as early Bronco.

Done

Just build your own, the factory will just mess it up...:ylsmoke:

With the HUGE financial success Ford has had with the Raptor, I'd bet we're going to see that Bronco concept return in some form or another. I cant wait to see it!! :smiley_drive:

Are they a huge financial sucess for ford?

They must be doing something right, i figured that i would never see any of these on the road. Man, was i wrong, i keep seeing them all over the place, perhaps more commonplace than the old ford lightning. Pretty suprising for a niche 50k$ truck!

If you believe the automotive media, it has been more successful than Ford planned, I read somewhere that they actually built more 5.4's than they planned to meet demand prior to releasing the 6.2. I've also heard positive things from people close to Ford ("insiders" if you will) as well.

I wish other companies would follow and make offroad capable trucks out the factory like the power wagon but smaller..
Here is one of the coolest videos of the Raptor i have seen...

heres the link incase video didnt pop up.. i cant see it but did the YT tags

they promote alot of things that the greenies are bustin public lands for and causing us to loose them..

I have a buddy that just got his in..the 6.2 in blue..he likes it..but is cryin about the 11mpg around town..the fact its too wide and he parks it WAY out whenever he does drive it..he likes it..but I bet he sells her within the year..

he really likes my tundra..I can forsee him getting a TRD one and STILL driving the the paved streets here in ohio..

but theres a guy in town with a black one..and its ALWAYS filthy...so he's probably out tearin up granpa's cowfield..but at least it sees grass!

Seriously!? Looks like it is all on an existing trail system, plus pretty darn mild compared to desert racing. The greenies will never be happy unless everyone else is unhappy.

that guy really plays up the rear suspension, isnt it just stock f150 suspension in the back with the fox shocks?

I'm pretty sure you're correct. However, I think I rear somewhere that Ford used the rear axle from the Mexican-spec F-150 as its stronger than the American version.

well the axle it uses is a sterling 9.75. which is what the 5.4 trucks have used previously, but the 4.6 trucks got the standard ford 8.8 rear.
But the raptors 9.75 is wider then the stock f150 9.75

Yeah no kiddin'....it isn't like it is linked or anything. Hell the new Dodges have better rear suspension.

You can build a better performing truck for cheaper from the aftermarket/custom fab shop.
