Okay...dang it. I have to completely avoid these reliability topics as they relate to Rovers. Today my DII flipped me the e-bird with an SES light on the dash. Time to meet up with my bud and his code reader. :(
 
Keep the Rover. If you sell, you will get another, and each time you come full circle, it cost 'ya. In the end, and the sooner the better, a diesel Defender is the answer. Get- or build- the 300 Tdi, R-380, crank windows, mechanical injection, etc. Even the Toyota guys agree the LR is easier to work on. But, after the Tdi is in place, there isn't much to work on- new bushings and tie-rod ends every 100k. This is the essence of what makes a LR a LR. Just my 2 cents, and at your age, the Tdi will be worth it in the long run. Check my website, www.theroverbarn.com , (lots of Disco time) and realize I am getting close to one Rover, Tdi 130, and maybe a built 90 for wheeling........
 
The disco is being kept, its getting a rockstar fab bumper this weekend and a rovertym steering relocation kit and new tie rod ends. I just have to much into it to sell. A 1985 D90 TDI is in my future.
