The concept is basically a tender spring. They have been used on coil over shocks for a long time.

Personally I think there is such a thing as too much articulation. A good performing suspension has to take a LOT of things into account. When you have too much articulation tires tend to get stuck in deeper holes, nooks and crannies. I would rather see the suspension carry a tire every once and a while instead of having the tire follow every single counter.

I agree with Metcalf. I would add that when a live axle can really droop that your track width is suffering and making for a vehicle that is easier to roll over vehicle.
