Help with Mirrors for 101 Landy

Hi All-New here. Have been reading and had to join. I'm looking for new mirrors for my 101GS. I keep hearing Defender 110 is the way to go but when I go to the various on line stores I get lost with the various bits needed etc. I need decent size due to the size of the 101.
Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for.
Cheers

Welcome to expo! You should really pot pics of your 101. :sombrero:

I can't be too much help on mirrors having not experienced them on a 101, but it strikes me that you may want to look into Wolf mirrors. They are a bit larger than the standard Defender mirrors and you can get them convex to help with viewing. I thought Rovers North had the Wolf mirrors, but it doesn't look like it anymore:

EDIT: I stand corrected, RN does have Wolf mirrors:

101 mirrors

Thanks Guys for the help. I think I need to upload to picasa as I can't get the pics to drop in here so I will do that. I'm about to do a build on it so I will take some pics as we go to work. If you are familiar with Mike Ladden's Drive the Globe 101-that's the one I purchased.

IF you wanted originality then the 101 uses LR 10"x6" mirrors that can be had from several suppliers. The drawback is that they are flat glass and you can see damn all with them. A short term solution is to get a couple of the blind spot mirrors sold at the local car place and stick them on the bottom of the OEM ones. They are a bit small but at least give you an idea if anyone is next to you. In reality want something that is bigger and has a convex shape to let you see into the huge blind spots on 101.

As you have a modified truck I'd suggest looking at commercial truck mirrors. Something like they use on those little Izuzu NPR delivery vans would be my bet. (Try looking for part 8-97890-540-2 which fits one side) I have not tried them so you need to have a look at it and modify things to fit accordingly. Just you opportunity to scare some poor delivry guy at the local supermarket by approaching him and showing your mirror envy.

Me, I've learned to drive by ear.
