Hey Y'all,
Been a while since I put some updated pics of me 'luxi, so heres a progress report.
I recently powder coated the rear sports bars which were previously a polished alloy to black, to go with the black roofrack and other black accessories. Got some crystal blue covers for me lightforce too after someone pinched one of the previous clear ones.
Ive also fitted a 3 inch custom exhaust system to the diesel, better breathing and performance now, it also includes a 3inch dump pipe from the back of the turbo and a high flow cat. I wasnt happy with the sound at the back (wanted a louder deeper sound) so I got the exhaust people to make up for me a flanged straight through 3 inch pipe to replace the mid section that had the hot dog muffler in it. so now its a straight through unit with a high flow cat......and it sounds awesome under load in low range. heres a short vid of how it sounds although the video doesnt do it justice-
Heres a couple of action shots from a wet wheeling day out a couple of weeks back-
Next on the list may be to black out the rear tail lights, black bonnet protector and possibly tint the front lights, a Steinbauer Diesel Performance module that will lift the engine torque from 343nM standard to around 440nm with the exhaust.....now thats not bad torque!
Tyre wise, (they'll need replacing at the end of the year) cant decide between new Hankook MT's in 295/75x16 (33.6x11.6x16) or Toyo MT's in 255/85x16 (33.5x10.3x16). I know theres a width difference, the Hankooks will nicely fill my guards but I think the Toyo's would be more practical. I really want a tough and aggressive tyre.
If I manage to get a cheap small set of tyres for everyday duties, I was also wondering about the Maxxis Creepy Crawlers in 255/85x16. Im surprised that nobody on these forums has come across or mentioned them yet-

255/85x16 measures 33.5x10.0 x 16, I reckon they'd be awesome aired down but like I mentioned, they'd be only used for strictly offroad duties. what do you guys think?
anyway, thats me rig, something different I guess.......:kewl:
