Holset HX30 Turbo on a Fuso 4d34T?

Has anyone swapped out their TD05H for a HX30. From what I found online the the manifold flange should be identical. I have one on my 4bt and love it, it spools up quickly and boosts to 20psi without a problem. I believe it also has a larger outlet flange which would alleviate the small outlet on the TD05.

No experience with it but have heard from someone that has done one that it is far better than stock. I myself would like to hear if you do it how much better it is.
Keep everyone informed if you do it. Will it boost from low revs and how low, how much boost at what revs. That is important for our low down torque.

I hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong...it's my understanding that the turbo flange used on our Mitsubishi trucks with 4D34 (at least on my 2000 FG639) is a DSM T25 flange, which apparently is slightly different than the standard T25 flange. Furthermore the Holset HX30 series use a T3 flange.

There are adapters like this on the market that could help us? https://jmturbo.com/products/turbo-...t3-adaptor-turbo-manifold-flange-adapter.html

I've also heard of aftermarket manifolds for our 4D34 that already encompass a standard flange for aftermarket turbos.

@soaringpotato Looks like you are correct. After some more digging I found an image of a stock manifold gasket with the same bolt spacing at the DSM TD05/T25 so it looks like I'll need an adapter or find an aftermarket manifold. I haven't had much luck finding any manifolds, the stock one looks pretty restrictive so I wouldn't mind upgrading that while I'm at it.

It looks like these industrial/forklift manifolds might have the right mating flange but fitment may be an issue as these orient the turbo upwards for the non-intercooled variant.

Yep, manifold looks about right on the engine. Rotate the cold side of the turbo so it faces down and run the pipe forward to the intercooler in front of the radiator. Use an intercooler from a FE73. The inlets and outlets tuck around the radiator just above the chassis.
