I have always wanted a diesel Scout or especially a Traveler, but that is an awful lot of dough...

Lots of dough indeed. Scout owners think they have a rare rig and its worth some $$ (I'm one of them). Nice rig but realistically its only worth 5-6k.

Ive heard the Nissan Diesel engines are a PITA to work on and pass smog (CA). Never worked on one myself.

one cannot own a scout in PA. at least only until it dissolves in the salt. sad. always liked those.
