I have been scrounging the net for a while trying to find good pictures of the rack mount. Is there any way to get a couple of decent images of them? I was hopeing to fab up something similar. I like the idea of useing a off the shelf larger rack such as the arb versions.

Agree with all posted, when I saw this project in the 4WD&SU Magazine, I knew that was what I wanted my JK to become. I would be interested to see how this Overland Project can be modified to take a family, I don't think I'll be aloud to leave the wife and kids at home. Also, interested to hear how the AEV Nth degree suspension holds up. I've been partial to OME stuff in the past and haven't decided on my new Jeep yet.

schmugboy, I agree with you 100%. My jeep has to be able to bring the wife and kids. Also I to am partial to OME stuff. So I run OME springs and shocks. With the AEV steering kit and AEV rear track bar kit. Best of both worlds.

I went from the ARB kit to the AEV kit and havent looked back. The Arb kit will fit 35's but you need bumpstops and brake line ext.
You cant go wrong with the AEV kit and it handles great on the road.

I know I am saving to switch from the Teraflex 2.5 to the AEV 4.5". On the long wheel base JK you need all you can get to assist with the break over angle.

I really like the Mopar wheels on this truck and just noticed that the valve stem is located behind the face of the wheel. I assume access is through the largest of the holes in the face. Has it proven difficult to access the value under field conditions? Specifically, can the caps be removed easily, is there clearance for Staun style deflators and will a clip on style inflator reach the stem through the hole?

Hey Troy,

It is a nice feature of the wheel. The valve is completely protected behind the face of the wheel and I installed no loss valve caps as well.

For inflation, a typical air chuck fits (push on style) and the Power Tank valves fit. I did have trouble with some of the clamp on style with the larger heads.

The big EOP deflators fit fine too.

You buying a JK? :D

Hi Scott,

You read my mind. I do plan to buy a JK later this year and am just doing some preplanning for the build. Don't be offended if my JK ends up looking a lot like the Overland JK. It really is the ideal build.

I've been in contact with them over the last month or so. The best guess and hope right now is late March for the switch panel. Dealing with overseas vendors is proving a bit time consuming for them.

Simple Solutions Mfg is just down the street from me. They are nice folks. I fully expect to see great stuff from them. I met them when they verified their mounting bracket WOULD work for the hemi rigs too.

Anymore info on the dash switches? The ones on top of the center console.

I've been in contact with them also briefly, and I've been checking their site (simplesolutionsmfg.com) regularly for probably six weeks now. It currently says "second week in February" for a go-live date, then who knows how long after that to start shipping a product.

Seems like they're not immune to the same delays that seem to hit every new parts supplier. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but it does give me a little pause since they're supposed to have industry experience. I'm still holding out to see what they come up with.
