Missing aftermarket component?

Been looking all over for one and can't find anything really, but a Hi-Lift spare tire mount would be great.

Did you make these? How did they work out?

They actually belong to a friend of minw, he needed them because he was going SOA. He can probably get more made if anyone needed them but there aren't a lot of people going SOA with Series trucks.

I would like to talk to him, then. Those look like coiler housings - did he put coiler axles under his Series?

Ohhh the swivel housings are from Timm Cooper- you need to talk to him or Rover's North. Rick got them directly from Timm but I don't think you can do that now.

I wish that you could just get the castings from Timm's kit and source the other parts yourself. I bet you could save at least a grand if not more from RN's price by using another vendor such as George at RDS for the actual parts calipers.

Pedal assemblies for the series servo brakes as well. You spend 3k on the conversion but I would need to source the pedal box which are becoming rarer and rarer.

Wings would be great. So would Elephant Hide.

Exmoor's new stuff look much better than the silvery stuff from years past. Actually looks pretty good except it's missing the all important black in the texture. And RN is currently importing so the price is higher than it probably should be.

A US source for rebuilt engines that has the same quality and characteristics of a Turner engine would be great as well. 4k + for motor is silly.

AND Finally - KODIAK MKIV Heaters. Ike was working on this at one time.

I think this was asked on another forum recently but not answered. What is the difference performance wise between the Kodiak and the late IIA heater? The basic components look to be about the same with the only real difference that I see is that LR may have made a more integrated looking duct along the bottom of the dash.

I'm interested as both my series trucks have the late heater. I'd hate to hunt down a Kodiak just to find out it was really no difference.

That's the way Timm sells them when you buy direct. Just the castings. The hard part is getting Timm's current phone number as he doesn't do email. He just moved again.

That's likely never to happen. But people are still occasionally parting out late IIA & III's. If you are willing to order from the UK, I'm sure there are a lot of SIII's that get parted out over there.

Exmoor doesn't give much of a wholesale price break which helps keep prices high. However British Pacific also is an Exmoor retailer. It never hurts to shop between BP & RN for the best price delivered to your door step.

There is nothing magic about the quality of a Turner rebuild. And if they get it wrong a warranty replacement can be VERY expensive once you pay shipping both ways.

British Pacific remanufactures 2.25L petrol engines to your specification. They do a quality rebuild with new pistons & cam.

They can also build performance engines with hotter cam, oversize bore & higher compression. Just tell them what you want up to 9.25:1 compression.

For replacement body panels, used factory Series panels are by far and away your best bet. The factory stopped using Bermabrite alloy several years back. The alloy they currently use bends easier and oxidizes easier. Aftermarket panels are also a low cost aluminum alloy and is thinner than factory panels. They bend and stress crack MUCH easier.

A reasonably priced Diesel heater for those chilly winter days!
Keith,
I happened into a Tractor Supply while visting over the holidays (don't have one near me). I found a cheap inline 600w lower radiator hose heater for about $20. Made by Katz's Heaters part # 14600.
