New Jeep!

Hello all! I have a friend here who just acquired a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was wondering what it would take to fit a set of 31x9.50x15 tires on there. Would it require any trimming, 2"/3" of lift, etc.
Thanks!

I fit that size on my 93 with a 1 3/4" Tera Flex spring lift and lowered bump stops (about 1" lower). Fit perfect.

On my 96, I fit a 30x9.5 with no lift, trimming or other adjustment.

Check out Kevin's Offroad or Rocky Road Outfitters. I have 30.5" equivilants and didn't even need a lift on the road. I stuck the 2" budget lift from Rocky Road in mine just to get back the articulation.

The ZJ is a fun vehicle to modify...

My wife misses her '98 since she traded it it, it was a great rig. The 5.2 V8 was ablast to drive. We had 30x9.5s BFG ATs on it with no mods and it handled them fine.

here is a pic with tires, no lift. They rub if I back up with the steering wheel turned, but otherwise no problem.

FYI - they are a 245/75-16 Dueler Revo. Really impressed with the tires, actually.

I have the same size and model tires on my Cherokee and love them. Ride great, quiet and work great in the dirt, sand and rocks. :wings:

Another question for the jeep community...what is a good yet cheep lift (looking at about 2"-3") for a Grand Cherokee? It also has to be stout enough to support ARB style bumpers front and rear. Thanks!

Clark

I went with the one from Rocky Road Outfitters...

$100 gets you 2" and your own shocks
$200 gets you new shocks too
$450 gets you ARB front springs, new shocks all around, and relocated stock front springs to the rear and a few other things for a 3.5"-4.5" lift.
