So, where to begin? It's been a crazy four days for me. I've been dealing with getting my four wheel drive functioning properly at a leisurely pace, but the priority had to be bumped up after I learned of the snow storm coming through Prescott. I didn't want to be caught on my drive to pick up the camper without it, so I had to try and build Rome in one day. I took some vacation time to pickup the Flippac and took an extra day to get it done.
With my wife having the other vehicle tied up most of the morning on Thursday, I had to scramble around to get the old and new spindles swapped over. The factory knuckles would be be used with the manual hubs so that the ABS system could be retained, but to do so means you must press out the ADD spindles and press in the manual hub spindle. To press them out a 20-ton press is needed, so I took them over to the Truck Shop to have that part taken care of.
Here's the beginning of the tear-down process.
I started to reassemble everything mid to late afternoon and gained an extra set of hands to help out. If it weren't for Mitch, I probably wouldn't have made Prescott on time on Friday. Big thanks to a really good friend!
Here's the front-end going back together with an extra set of hands.
Thanks for taking this picture Apryl.
It was my first time every putting the manual hubs back together after taking them apart. True to form... it took twice as long to get the first side done than it did the second. A dinner/swearing break was taken in between sides.
This is a good shot for showing the massive Tundra 13WL brakes as well.
Finally got everything back together and everything cleaned up around midnight.
