Vanaconda is long overdue for some TLC. With the east coast expo event coming up soon, and the van getting close to 100K, now is the time. So.... here's the menu---- Turbo removal & cleaning, EGR cooler delete, new programmer from DP Tuner (80hp eco) EGT gauge, belt, new shocks, frame & axle cleaning & fuel filters! This should keep me busy for a few days
I was wondering if you cleaned the turbo your self or got it serviced by a garrett distributor. I am almost done with an egr delete on my 6.0l. When I took out the turbo. I took it out in two pieces. Its abit rusty and the carbon has piled up, resulting in me not being able to get it back together with the fan spinning freely. I am thinking of getting it serviced by Garrett. Its $750. What are your thoughts.
Also when I tryed to put it back It seemed almost impossible. Do you have any pointers, getting it into its spot, and getting it over the oil pipe that it drains into right below it. It seems almost impossible. There is just so much stuff in the way. I am thinking of cutting the steel above it to give alittle more room to work with, then replaceing it with aluminum.
Any help would be much appriciated.
